This set is so heavy that even just setting it down hard can damage or crack a circuit board. ONE real mistake people make is the set is so heavy people use a hand cart with a steel piece and lift set and roll it, the steel piece lifts up under the set and breaks the circuit board, saw several wasted that way when I worked for circuit city at the time these sets were made.

Hi SD Tech, I moved it on a flat cart but when putting it in a tv cabinet one of the guys hands slipped and the tv dropped on right side about four inches. When I plugged it in sound and remote works but has a black screen and the red standby light keeps blinking constantly. Took the back off to a dusty mess but can't see any loose wires or parts. Found a fuse near the power cord but it looks in tack meaning can't see that its blown. What else should I look for or should I just trash it and send it off to the recycle. Such a shame it was working just perfect before we moved it. Thanks you for any help given. Maryellen

I have a 46 inch Sony Bravia. It is several years old. Maybe 5? A few years ago the screen was replaced under the extended warranty we bought from Target. The problem started out as shadows on the screen....

Is it a perfect square like there is a box on the screen ? if so it could be an easy fix if not then time for a new TV!! Did it just slowy get worse or was it just like that one day?

The TV has a Black cloud on the right half of the

My parents have the same issue with their Sony KDL-46V4100 TV and were told by the tech that the LCD screen was physically broken and would have to be replaced. The replacement of the screen would cost more than a brand new TV and the TV is not longer under warranty. After the TV is on for awhile the Black cloud goes away but it always comes back when they turn the TV off/on. It stays for 20 - 30 minutes sometimes. The Tech took both top corners of the TV and pushed one back and pulled one forward to show them he could recreate the problem after the black blob cleared up. By twisting the corners he made the blob reapper which he claimed was becuase of the damaged screen. I have no idea how the screen was damaged? I helped them take it out fo the box and set it up. We never dropped it bumped it once? It's never falled off the stand so go figure? It would be nice to find more people with this issue and get a recall going. Something that expensive should last longer than to two years.

Sony KV-32FV15 TY

I have had my Sony KV-32FV15 for about 2 years now and nothing has ever gone wrong(even going through several moves.) I recently moved again and when I plugged in the TV, you can hear the sound perfectly but the screen just stays black. You can not even hear the squeal that the TV makes when comming on. Is there anything that I should initially look at to troubleshoot. I cannot afford at this time the $250 fee to repair my TV. I look forward to your input and hopefully I can get this TV working again.
