To reset the camera, remove the battery for 15 mins, Replace the battery then go to the camera's menu and set the Date & Time.

SOURCE: Powershot SX100 low battery symbol with new batteries

Hi!
If you're sure that the batteries are full, then the power board has to be changed. It's the first board under back cover, with the buttons on the other side of it. Contact your local Canon service center. If they ask very much, you can contact me [email protected] and I can give you a price - I have access to new Canon parts.

SOURCE: Camera reading memory card error, cannot get it to work. Tried removeing the card and replacing batteries. Checked and it is not locked.

try formatting the card once on a pc and then plug it in your camera....if that does not help either, you'll have to try a different card.

If you make sure that the memory card is properly seated and the batteries in and the battery door properly closed, then it should power up. If still no success, it may be the micro switch that closes when the battery door is closed.

SOURCE: canon powershot sx120 si depletes battery life in

Camera likely has a short, remove the batteries before a circuit completely shorts out and then you'll have no power. You just need to have the camera serviced. The site that is real good for the powershots is: camerasandparts.com In fact, all they do is service for the powershot models, they're amazing if you need help with one of these. I think yours would fall under a power issue and for that model it's only $89 including parts / labor, complete service for the camera, plus the return shipping if you're in the US. They're tough to beat for service for these, they are the place if you need help with a powershot, good luck with the problem.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I dropped my Canon PowerShot SX120 IS Digital Camera and now there is no power. Is there a reset button on the inside or anywhere?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Card locked shows in the view and the button will not take pictures but the card is not locked..What else could be wrong?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". If moving the tiny slide switch on the card didn't help, see other troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

Have you tried to reset to original settings in the setup window. I would try that maybe..
If that doesn't work then its probably an issue with your sensor unit which is apart of your lens.

Have lost my photo's from my SD card on Canon PowerShot SX120. i formatted.. how can i get them back

Formatting a memory card completely erases the pictures with no hope of retrieval. If you had only deleted them, you could have used photo retrieval software to get them back.

Error message: "Lens error, restart camera" unable to get it to work Have powered on & off several times. Also removed batteries and powered on several times all to no avail.

There are 2 fixes I know for this you can try.

1. Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.

2. If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. You don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the sd card and turn it on one last time.

Canon powershot s2 Is

I just fixed mine. Put your memory card into your computer. Right click on it. Choose format. Reformat the memory card. You WILL lose all pictures stored on it.

Before putting the memory card into your camera, do the following.

Go to MENU and choose RESET ALL.

Choose reset to original settings.

When camera is done doing so, turn camera off.

Reinsert memory card after it is done being formated in your pc.
Then your camera and memory card should work great again. I just did it on my Canon Powershot A620.
