Hi!
If you're sure that the batteries are full, then the power board has to be changed. It's the first board under back cover, with the buttons on the other side of it. Contact your local Canon service center. If they ask very much, you can contact me [email protected] and I can give you a price - I have access to new Canon parts.

try formatting the card once on a pc and then plug it in your camera....if that does not help either, you'll have to try a different card.

If you make sure that the memory card is properly seated and the batteries in and the battery door properly closed, then it should power up. If still no success, it may be the micro switch that closes when the battery door is closed.

Camera likely has a short, remove the batteries before a circuit completely shorts out and then you'll have no power. You just need to have the camera serviced. The site that is real good for the powershots is: camerasandparts.com In fact, all they do is service for the powershot models, they're amazing if you need help with one of these. I think yours would fall under a power issue and for that model it's only $89 including parts / labor, complete service for the camera, plus the return shipping if you're in the US. They're tough to beat for service for these, they are the place if you need help with a powershot, good luck with the problem.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
