What you have is short protection--it means one of two pico fuses on the middle board is bad and it and the two STK-392-570 chips it uses for convergence are going to have to be replaced and the set adjusted with the Mitsubishi remote.

This can be a do it yourself repair for some people with basic skills and parts cost from a site I know will be under 30 dollars.

In addition I have my own start to finish, step by step instructions for this which are available if you provide a email address.

They tell you everything you will need and precisely how to do the repair. Once you have and read them you can decide if you can do the repair or not--shops usually get over 200 dollars parts and labor for this repair.

I attach a photo of the fuses (on middle board) and what the chips look like (also on middle board at the front)

Hi, after lookin in the service manual I have a question. I tested th see if the fuses were shorted, however... I'm not completely sure how these fuses work, since most fuses are shorted to begin with... Are they resistive type fuses of some type? Just looking for insight. Thanks

SOURCE: WS-65809 ERROR CODE 22

look on the center circuit board and you will see two green Pico fuses they look like resistors but they dont have any bands on them . They will have F9A04 and F9A05 on the board next to them. Check with a ohms meter if those fuses are open you will ned new convergence ICs. Thats the first thing to check are those two pico fuses when you get a 22 error on your model.

You have bias resistors close to the IC's, I would guess you have a few that have changed in value and therefore have destroyed the IC's again. Now you must start over again. The resistors will be very low Resistance and tolerance and they must check exact.

SOURCE: My mitsubishi ws-55809 will not turn on

hi..
The problem is the Convergence circuit and the reason it does not power up is that one or two of the 5a pico fuses have opened when the Convergence IC failed. It is either going to be a pair of STK392-570's or a single IC STK393-110. That is as long as this set is a Mitsubishi made in the last 7 to 9 years.
I would estimate the cost to repair 280.00 plus service call fee if any, plus tax on parts.
Let the Tech check it out. If if it cost less than 400.00 to repair, it may well be worth taking the chance.

22 is short protect usually its the convergence Ics in that model that can short out. check fuses F9A04 and F9A05 if they are open its most likely the convergence ICs that need repslacing. If you need further assistance, please reply to this same post.

Mits 55809 LED wont flash 3 green after plug in AC

A code 22 means your set is going into protective shutdown due to a short circuit. This could be horizontal output or regulator transistors being shorted. However you will probably need a service manual to pinpoint the problem precisely. You can get a detailed service manual at the following link along with free support to help you diagnose your set's problem. They will also email the manual to you so you have access to it right away. here is the link.

Mitsubishi 56 inch rear projection TV

A 22 code in Mitsubishi is a short circuit that is causing your set to go into protective shut down. Check the horizontal output and low voltage regulators for being shorted. Let me know if I can help you further, or if you need any additional info.
