Sounds like you checked the basics. Do you have hard water? Our element got covered with calcium over time and didn't heat efficiently anymore. I was able to chip some off, then ran the dishwasher with LemiShine a few times. The element worked much better after that.

SOURCE: dish washer wont drain

HI. check the following areas for faults.

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

SOURCE: Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB2810LDC1 not draining

Sure its redeemable if you have the time and money. If I understand you correctly when you move the lowewr spray arm the water drains out? If this is the case then more than likely its a pump motor or solenoid. Reason I say this is on the bottom of the spray arm is a impeller and under that is filter and then pump impeller that drains the water. If its not draining but will by hand then its your pump motor or solenoid. When you start the washer then press cancel/drain do you hear anything? Maybe a humming sound. One more thing could be a thermal fuse for the motor. These are usually not resetable its a one time fuse if it blows you have o buy another one.Hope this helps

SOURCE: Help! My dishwasher doesn't rinse soap off my dishes anymore

try a few applications of jet dry DISHWASHER cleaner to remove excessive build up of calcium/hard water deposits...sounds like the water temperature is too low upon the initial fill cycle to assist in dissolving the soap.the water temp. must 125 degrees to insure soap activation/ and dissolve it.check for obstructed spray arm as well

try turning on your water at the sink for a while on hot let it run then start the wash cycle that should help. what that will do is let the cold water run out of the pipes and therefore you will have a hot water start.

My new percolator will not perk? Water gets hot but doesnt seem to rise to the top.

I had the same problem, and I figured it out. Read on, to see if this applies to you. This percolator was received as a present years ago, and I'm not sure it ever worked right. First, some info and background. The above comments about the heating element being clean to bare metal, while valid, did not work for me. I also read other posts suggesting the thermostat might be defective, which also did not seem to apply to my situation because the water is always hot enough at the end of the cycle, not boiling, but steaming hot enough for just about anyone. I deduced the problem to be with the actual perking process, not heat or heating element. A percolator should perk before the water is at drinking (HOT) temperature, and the perking action cools the water and prolongs the actual perking process. The problem I found was with the washer at the bottom of the tube, which is supposed to act like a 1-way valve. The washer, from the factory, was apparently too loose with almost a 1/4-inch or play, allowing hot water that would otherwise perk back into the water chamber, effectively making my percolator into a kettle. I used a stainless steel washer and an e-clip to tighten the washer against the holes on the lower umbrella-shaped flange so that there is just enough room to slide a feeler gauge or perhaps a couple of sheets of paper. Now the percolator works great, fantastic actually. Watching the coffee perk at the top in anticipation of a hot cup is entertaining, and with the stainless steel pot I have no worries about phytoestrogens leaching from plastics common in drip coffeemakers. See photo of my hack if it uploaded correctly. Its high res, so you may be able to download and zoom in. Enjoy! new-percolator-will-not-n1see0xg4iab1sfdaqlesvfh-4-1.jpg

My dish washer is 4 years old and is not cleaning dishes or disolving soap. HO appears in the status window which my manuel says indicates a water heat delay. How can this water heat delay be repaired ? ...

The water heat delay indication could be caused by the fact that the heating element has failed so that the washer will not proceed with the wash program until the water is up to the correct temperature. You should be able to tell if the element is getting hot. You could try manually putting in hot water before the washer fills up with cold to see if the wash then proceeds.
