I have this problem also with Fuji Z90 model.
Problem is fixed and focus now working ok.
Camera is fall down and after when camera was started giving sound click click from focus big motor and error on screen Focus error
Focus ( lens ) was open ( small cover on top bellow sticker ) Small "snail" gear is taked out . Two sliding segment adjusted for focus ( upper full up and lower full down - beware about spring inside below this focus pins )and snail is inserted back. Camera started and focus start working. I need to make small adjustment . Reason when camera is started picture is not clear and before using camera i need to do full zoom in and back zoom out. After this picture is crystal clear and all working ok.

SOURCE: Fuji FinePix A900 Digital Zoom error

if your fujifilm a900 have the zoom out and wont get back in and that when you push the power botton it light for 3 second and shut off , push the Disp/back and the play ( 2 botton one beside the other) at the same time , it will bring the zom in and tell you to update the firmwere , do that and it will work just like a new camera, Good Luck to all, I have find it out after a few hours of internet search without succes and by error i push those 2 buttons. I found this really funny but it work just fine for me.

SOURCE: camera power not coming on

READ AND HEED THE SAFETY DISCLAIMER BELOW!

THE ONE I BOUGHT TO GET THE CD WOULDN'T TURN ON. EXPERIENCE TOLD ME THAT IF I OPERATED THE POWER SWITCH MANY TIMES, IT MIGHT CLEAN THE CONTACTS AND TURN ON. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK AFTER 200 TRIES, I WOULD POUR SOME RONSON CIGARETTE LIGHTER FLUID INTO THE CAMERA BATTERY COMPARTMENT, TILT THE CAMERA SO IT PUDDLED IN THE SWITCH AREA AND TRY AN OTHER 200 TIMES. IN THIS CASE, IT TURNED ON ON THE 83DR TRY, DRY, AND IS WORKING FINE.

FOR SAFETY, IF USING THE LIGHTER FLUID, LEAVE THE BATTERIES OUT, AND NO POWER ADAPTER PLUGGED IN TO AVOID POSSIBLE IGNITION. MAKE SURE THE CAMERA IS DRY BEFORE APPLYING POWER.

SOURCE: Fuji FinePix S9000 battery change clears date/time.

Hi

I started having a similar problem with my Fuji FinePix F10 after about 3 1/2 years of problem-free use. Another poster had some really helpful advice which I thought I'd pass on. It seems there is an internal battery or capacitor which basically fails after a while, meaning date/time settings etc are lost when the battery is removed. (Some people claim this is a motherboard/chip problem instead - seems to be contentious!) So the camera is faulty, but the problem can be worked around.

The advice I found, which worked for my camera, was this:

- Turn off camera and leave off for approx 15 seconds before opening battery door.
- Change battery quickly (within a few seconds).
- Close battery door and leave camera off for approx 15 secs before turning back on.

This retained all settings when I tested it multiple times. I imagine it might not work if changing over a totally dead battery though.

Hope it helps!

Fuji Finepix s700

I recommend to all my customers with AA battery life issues to try Energizer Lithium AA's. Virtually all battery issues solved. I think alkaline batteries are being manufactured poorly, these days, so even brand new they aren't great.

Fuji finepix e510 won't turn on

If your Fuji e510 battery system is like the Finepix S3000 or the S3100 take a look at the following postings: Finepix S3100 (Camera power does not come on...) by banobo of Feb 07,2008 and check out solutions #2 & #4, (Mine is #4), Also see posting by "tomawamba for Fuji S3000" and my slightly differently worded solution.(Only one posted). May be best to get camera working before connecting with anything else. Good luck, be patient.

As another solution suggests , put new batteries in the camera and leave for an hour or so, I guess to recharge the internal memory battery

Fuji Finepix 50i won't switch off & has frozen.

There are a few things you can try. I had a fuji that would sometimes do this also. I found low power was one of the main issues. First try a new set of NiMH as alkalines just wont cut it specualy with these older cameras. Next check the memory card door. There is a little tiny switch on the memory door that will turn the unit off if the door is opend. Make sure the door is fully closed and maybe even hold it down tite while you try and use it.
