My zen froze a few days ago so I immediately reset it. When I connected it to my computer, it charged but my computer did not recognize it as the zen. This is a problem because I can't get anymore songs! Please help.

This is a common problem and the problem is windows media player. Update your version of windows media player and it should work fine again. Since version 10 or 11 of windows media player microsoft has fixed the problem.

Re-install windows media player, The re-install creative media source 5.
Thats always been the fix for me and other many people.

Won't turn on

I had a similar problem with my Creative Zen V+ (8Mb) when the battery went. What worked for me might work for you:

- Plug it in and leave it on charge for a couple of days.
- Reset
- Power on.

The key thing seemed to be to get power in before trying to get it up and running.

I have used this tactic the other way around when it froze - leave it to power down for a couple of days, then recharge, then reset and power up.

So far, the Zen V+ has proved extremely resilient!

Creative Zen Rebuilding Problem (Freezing)

Hold the reset button with a paper clip AND the play button at the same time while flipping the power switch. The ZEN should go into recovery mode. You probably want to do format all but you can try the different options. You also may need to download/update the firmware here.

My zen froze!

Don't worry, it can be after first connection with computer. Just wait about one day till it's battery will be empty and then charge battery and turn on your mp3. :)

Creative zen v problems-frozen

I Recently bought a Zen, and it works great. The only problem I found was that it freezes itself from time to time, and the best solution to this problem is on the bottom of your Zen, there is a very small Reset hole. With a needle or a toothpick, gently stick it in, and push lightly. This will allow the Zen to unfreeze, and return back into it's regular mode. All your files will be saved, and kept on to the Zen, so you don't need to worry about losing any of your files.

Any additional help, I'll be glad to answer!

Zen V

You might have pulled it out when it was transferring information. You probably need to upgrade its firmware. Go to Creative's website and check.
