Belkin Modem Router not connecting to desktop

My Belkin is not allowing my XP wireless desktop PC connect.
I recieve limited or no connectivity, all the other (3) computers can connect. The desktop does not have a static IP, it's brand new and worked previously with my old router.

I have the same issue. I also receive the limityed or no connectivity error!!! I'm using DHCP, and while if I assign a static Ip address, it'll show connected, it doesn't produce the internet.

The wireless security on your router might be enabled.

1. In the address bar of your Internet browser, type "192.168.2.1". Then press the "Enter" key.

2. It will prompt for a password to access the Router’s Web-Based Advanced User Interface. By default the password is blank.

3. Go to Security, then Wireless.
- Check the wireless security settings, this should match the settings on your wireless computer.

4. On the wireless computer, you should detect SSID and if wireless security is enabled, connect to it with the correct security keys.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

which belkin device have you connected to your desktop? The ipad will be looking for a wireless network to connect to. So you will need a wireless router to allow it to connect, also the modems ethernet cable needs to plugged into the wireless router and IF you have the modem connected directly to the pc to allow it to connect to the internet , then you need to connect a lead FROM the router to the PC

1. Step 1 Position your Belkin wireless G router.
Place your wireless G router in a wide open and central location. Don't connect the power plug into the router, yet. Make sure your computer is turned off.

2. Step 2 Connect all the devices.
Find the Ethernet cable that connects your PC to the modem. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your PC and insert it into the wireless G router's WAN port. You should have an additional Ethernet cable that came with your router. Take this cable and plug one end into one of the LAN ports on the router. Then connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.

3. Step 3 Turn on your modem, router, and PC.
Plug the power plug adapter into the modem. Turn on the modem. It'll take approximately 30 seconds for the modem to boot up. Connect the power plug adapter to the router and the other end into a power strip or outlet. Like the modem, it'll take about 30 seconds for the router to boot. Turn on your PC.

4. Step 4 Verify lights are on for your devices.
Make sure the following lights are on for your router: power, WAN, and LAN light. If you don't see any of them lit, confirm these devices are turned on. Make sure the Ethernet cable connections are installed correctly.
Step 5 Install and configure software.
Use the setup wizard application to configure your Belkin wireless G router. Set up features, such as creating your password and setting up your time zone. Continue to follow the setup wizard so you can configure ?other settings

Setup belkin wireless network

Hi,
1.Connect a Cat5 cable into the Ethernet port on the back of your cable or DSL modem. Plug the other end of the cable into the "Connect to Modem Internet/WAN" port on the back of the Belkin Router.
2.Connect a Cat5 cable into the "Ethernet" port on the back of any desktop or stationary computers and then plug the other end of the cable into one of the LAN ports on the back of the Belkin Router. Start with port one and work your way up with subsequent computer connections.
3.Turn the Belkin Router on by plugging the router into a power outlet. Allow 30 seconds for the router to fully boot up. All computers tethered to the modem via a Cat5 cable have access to the Internet.
4.Open the Wi-Fi Wizard on your laptop and turn on the Wi-Fi antenna. Once turned on, the Wizard finds all network connections in your area. Connect to your network to establish an Internet connection. Complete this step for each computer not tethered to the Belkin Router with a Cat5 cable.

Upgraded to windows 7 and i am unable to connect to the internet. I get a limited or no connectivity

I'm thinking modem/router combination. first power down modem and router. Then leaving router unplugged, power up modem, make sure it's sync up then power up router. If this is a wireless connection search for your networks name on computer/laptop..ie View wireless connection. Windows allows a automatic setup if the wireless connection is unsecured. If it is secured Windows 7 will prompt a pass phrase/ or access code. Good luck. Repeat process if necessary

it will as long as the modem/router is connected to a phone line, instead of the pc, the only cable connected to the pc should be a ethernet cable; or you have the pc networking set that it connects via another pc instead of through a gateway, re run the wireless network wizard.

I recently purchased a Hawking HSB2 Signal Booster. Two years ago, my son installed a Toshiba Cable modem(PCX2200)and a Belkin Wireless Router(model#F5D7230-4)for Camcast High Speed Internet. The Router...

Booster will only work along with access points in your case the belkin wireless router - you have to connect the device to the router not to the windows xp pc

if you know how to configure and the device are compatiable to each other and allows bridging or can configure as your access point client then you need not wanna to get it connected via wire or T568b standard ethernet cable otherwise you have to connect with this cable will enchance the wireless activity

Wireless signals can go down its strength by any magnetic activity, oscillations such as microwave, powerful steel/metal frames and check your anteena position keep in different direction and check your pc wifi signal strength.

Interlink between your router and booster with utp cables gives you steady flow of data and full band strength.

Aviod using two company devices change the router to Hawking
