Canon a510 lense problem

The lense protector on my Powershot A510 appears to be jammed. It can be forced open when the camera is turned on or forced closed when the camera is turned off but it does not operate on its own. Is there a way to take it apart or any suggestions as to how to repair it.

It depends on the age of the camera If it is new[ish] contact Canon Technical support team who may offer to inspect/repair for free. If it is older than this , just live with or contemplate the next camera. You taking it apart will probably not be a successful enterprise- and repair shops costs will end up well on the way to the price of a new improved high mega pixel camera.

What is the maximum size of an SD card that can be used in a Canon PowerShot A510?

You can use any size SD card. Just keep in mind that SD cards max out at 2GB; any larger cards are actually SDHC cards and will not work in the A510.

Can't format memory card in A510 Canon digital camera.

Have you used this card in the past? Is this a new card?

Is this card rated to be used with this camera. Some cameras can only support cards of certain sizes.

If the card is compatible, take the card to target or best buy and format it on a camera there and see if it works then put it back in your camera and see if it works after.

After E18 fixes...lense got in..but does not come out

You can just head to darntoothysam.com and search for "E:18" without the quotes. You won't see your model listed, but you can buy any one of those model repairs and follow the steps to get your A510 fixed.

Problem in Manual Focus of Canon Powershot A510

Some how it seems the auto focus- which in macro mode is looking at something else[because of parallax]is over riding your manual focus attempts. Check the manual carefully to see if there is a mention here for special things to do for close work or contact the Canon Technical Support
