While the console itself is working fine with the whole "new xbox experience" and the netflix application there are problems when playing games. When there is a game in the system it is spinning, but the box is super noisey and it will usually lock up and need to be restarted about every 20-30 minutes of game play. I cannot restart the system using the controller, I have to manually turn it off and reboot.
Suggestions? Thank you in advance.
It depends what game your playing somegames need a patch witch you can download on xbox live or chack your games to see if they have lots of scratchs or take the stuff of your xbox becuase it might be over heating

Same thing but my xbox will go silent then make loading noises so i have to save as quickly as i can before it crashes, it also loses the plot when im playing games such as fallout 3 i get to a certain point & it carry's on the video & not the gaming.
Games are Elder Scrolls IV and Tiger Woods 09 - I log onto xbox live everytime I turn it on and down load any updates...assuming the patches automatically prompt to be downloaded...right? I thought overheating may be an issue so I've cleared the area around the unit from any obstructions but the symptoms have not changed. I've also done my best to blow any dust buildup from the vent openings although there didn't seem to be much buildup present. Thanks for your input - any other ideas?
It's unpredictable for me. Sometimes it's when I start a disc game. Sometimes it's when I stream something from Netflix. Sometimes it's in an arcade game--and sometimes I can go hours without it happening.
Unfortunately, it's happening frequently enough now to make the consolue so unreliable that I really don't want to use it.
i put in a dvd movie and all my problems with freezing started happening and this is the second xbox that has done this to me
