Fuse keeps blowing out on Panasonic CT36HL44J TV

I have found the possible cause to your fuse problem, I would suggest replacing your lid switch to the unit, this can cause you fuse to blow. Item #3 below is the switch Part# is 22003804, I and hopeful this will correct the problem for you. Is part should con with the Item #7 in the picture also, replace them both, made even be a different color. I think gray is the color right now.

Replace the starter relay in the fuse box behind the glove box. The fuse ONLY powers the control coil portion of the starter relay. If it's blowing, there's a short in the winding or a short between the relay and the theft deterrent module. Bad relay is most likely culprit

probably a frayed wire causing a direct short.

Once you take the back off there is a glass gma fuse withing a few inches of where the power cord plugs into the board at. This should be a 6.3 or 6.5 gma fuse. Very common to blow in your model because the degausing coil is a little to big for it. There are other reasons for it to blow but 99% of the time you change change it and the set will work again. I had a similar problem, in that I could not find the proper fuse for my set. I bought a bit higher amp fuse from Radio Shack and it ended up blowing a couple months later. I've since pulled the TV down and replaced it with an LCD set, so I've solved my problem.

But, to address yours, I don't think the amp difference would not be the problem. Likely, there is a power issue on your set causing it to draw more amps and become out of specification. Using a higher amp fuse would buy you more 'capacity', but if its blowing those too (repeatedly), its likely a real problem in the set. I'm not a TV technician, so I can't tell you why. I'd suggest taking the thing in for service (cheaper than the house call) or if that is too expensive, looking at putting your money into a set that won't give you those problems. Or, just keep replacing the fuse until it doesn't fix the problem.

It has a short circuit somewhere...
Not sure if this is a CRT, LCD or Plasma TV but the two common causes of shorts for CRT's are the Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) and/or the Flyback Transformer (Could be both). As a general rule if the flyback has visible cracks in the case they should be replaced. It is also a good idea to replace the HOT if you're replacing the flyback as it could be weakened and may not last much longer itself.
Other areas to check for all types would be any Diodes in the Power Supply Circuit. If a diode is open it can cause the fuse to blow. Note that a diode itself will not short, but an open diode can cause a fuse to blow.

If the main fuse keeps blowing, check the horizontal output transistor for a shorted condition and diodes in that section as well.

This set has a common problem with th main fuse opening for no other apparent reason... One of the few exceptions to my corner-stone statement that a fuse is never the cause only a symptom..
Don't replace it though with the same type grade, use a 6.3a slo-blow gma type - available at Radio Shack... Try that and if everything works you're back in business.. If not we nee to find a cause...

Yes, it is most likely the fuse. I have seen many of the fuses in those Panasonics "pop" for no apparent reason. If you feel comfortable, you can replace that fuse yourself. Carefully remove the back, follow the AC power cord and where the AC cord attaches to the PC board will be a small glass fuse. It is most likely a GMA 6.3A fuse. Replace that fuse and the set should work. If the original fuse is good or if the new fuse blows out too, have the set serviced by a qualified tech.

Please check for shorted diode or condenser at power section.
