Hi Rickpo:
After installing the $11 kit and the additional $13 kit recommended by (http://preher-tv.blogspot.com/2010/01/samsung-hpt4254-no-power-repaired.html) mostly surface mount diodes (also available on Ebay), the Samsung HP-T4254 came back on, but would only play for 4 minutes. I found DX801 flowing both directions, replaced it with a diode from Fry's. Works great, $26 total repair costs :-)

SOURCE: HP-T4254 samsung TV turns itself off and on
Try this step before purchasing power supply. I have serviced this tv before. Lay it flat plug it in and it should turn on,but once you sit it up straight it will turn off. I think there are faulty fairchild mosfet transistors or a firmware issue. I put a 1 inch thick book under the stand so it tilts up or down. I have not had a call from any customer since.

make shure that the computer is set up to display on the screen. To check and see right click on your desktop, click on the option that says screen resolution, and then change your settings from their. The tv will not register that you have a computer plugged into it if the computer is not sending the tv a signal.

same problem. Any luck?
same problem....started 2 weeks ago. Today is April 16, 2009
All of the sudden my HPT4254 samsung plasma will shut off and then on, like i set it to sleep mode, but i didnt even touch slep mode, it has been doing it quite often.
What is happeneing is that the capasitors are swelling because i have been running it alot, day and night. if a plasma runs all the tim, it gets hot and stays hot, so the capasitors work hard and it swells and bulges.
Remember Folks, you have a 2 year in home warrenty with samsung plasma televisions. so i am just going to honer the warrenty and save up for another television. i think i will go with a Sony LCD. The Bravia 2 engin is Superb in fast movements. like a plasma, or a L.E.D, L.C.D.
As for plasma, i dont recomend getting one if you are going to be running it almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week
I hope this has been helpful
