Dark horizontal lines in the image

After year of good service the pictures are dark and strangely coloured because they are horizontally striped, with quite a well defined pattern. Changing the image quality changes the coulours, but still bad images. Everething is fine instead in movie operations. I tried securing the most evident connections of the internal buses, with no result. Can it be a software failure? Thanks for your help

The problem is a broken CCD sensor. Contact HP and ask whether they would repair it for free.

A single set of horizontal lines could indicate damage, a graphics system failure, or loose internal video cables. Broken signals from cables or graphics hardware creates impurities in reproducing an image on an LCD screen, conditions that often manifest in the form of vertical or horizontal lines of color. https://itstillworks.com/causes-horizontal-lines-lcd-panel-37988.html

My Z1275 has developed intermittent horizontal lines on the view screen when the camera is moved, and on images some times. Get good images if I use tripod and shutter delay. Looks like loose connecti

When having bright lights on a dark background, you can have horizontal lines. That is supposed to be normal. but the camera should give good pictures in bright light. Try setting the camera in automatic. most of the time it is the green camera loge on the mail dial.

Dark, horizontal lines after text and dark images.

This implies that your monitor had gone bad. you need to take it to a computer repair shop.

Image looks with white verital striped lines in playback mode

Mine had the same problem (except the stripes are horizontal).  I sent it to Canon and sure enough it is the CCD problem that many of these have.  The good news is that it is covered under a recall and Canon will fix it free, including the shipping.
