Water in bottom of dishwasher

When I open my dishwasher in the morning, there is water in the bottom. I know all the water has drained out at the end of the cycle because, when I open the door when the cycle has ended, there is no water in the bottom. It seems to come in over a period of time before the next wash. I have no idea where the water is coming from or why. My dishwasher is only 2 years old. Can someone help.

I would agree with jsrock. It sounds like a problem with the valve.

You could have a defective fill valve that is not shutting off properly. Look for a fill inlet opening somewhere on the inside casing of the wash tub. Usually it is on the left hand side of the machine looking in. While the dishwasher is sitting idle, watch the fill valve opening to see if water is leaking in. It could be a minor as just a drip. However, over a period of several hours you could end up with a wash tub full of water. Over a weekend with no one home, it could overflow onto the floor. The valve usually cannot be repaired and would require replacing. Good luck.

Not draining at all. water collected at bottom of unit. tried "cancel/drain" numerous times and water remains at bottom of unit.

Possible blocked waste pipes or cycle pipes. but some specialist de-greaser and let it soak in dishwasher over nite - put dishwasher on in morning, repeat until its flushed.

I woke to water draining from the dishwasher this morning. I looked inside and there was water in the bottom? Help?

when you say you woke to water draining i assume the pump was activated if so you water valve is not shutting completely causing your dishwasher to gradually over fill this will cause your water level switch to activate the overfill stage and bring in your water pump have a close look and if this is the case replace water valve hope this helps let me know how you go

I have a 17 - 18 inch dishwasher and the water runs out before the wash cycle is over. If I have not used it for a while, when I open it there is water in the bottom. What am I doing wrong??

I think your drain hose must be too low...the drain hose has to raise above the bottom of the sink..this keeps a air gap in the hose.. keeps the water from running out and will also keep water from the sink running into the dishwasher... let me know if this helps

QuietPower 3, water seeps into unit, fills the base once per week.

I need more info but I would check the drain connection under the sink to make sure that it goes up after leaving drain , to keep the sink from draining into the dishwasher.
