No they do not have any internal cooling devices. they rely on ventilation alone. I will suggest that you read up on reviews for this item if you are thinking of buying one. They have not gotten great reviews.
Allot of these units have an internal fuse that protects them.Open up the inverter box and locate the fuse and replace it.If this does not work the diode may have blown. You can also replace this if you are pretty good with a soldering iron.
Sounds like your inverter was already having issues. Otherwise, the power port in your trailblazer is wired backwards (center contact should be positive, barrel or ring should be negative).
If you are lucky, you may have blown the fuse. It is located on the back panel, usually in a little plastic slide out holder, but it can be sometimes found in a tubular container which has a knurled plastic cap.
Check that ground is correctly connected. If nuetral is provided, ensure it too is connected. Your total load is 780 watts. Check power in and ground out of the supply side. There may be a fuse in the inverter on the output side also, replace if necessary. If fault light does not go out after these checks, you will need to contact Black and Decker who manufactures the vector series now.
