SOURCE: I installed Windows 7 and I cant find a driver for

When there is not a Vista version of the driver, then try installing the Vista version, it may work but may not have all the functions that it had under Vista.

~To download the manufacturers and therefore correct drivers or specific software;

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the hp.com web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: hp pavillion converted into windows

Hi,
Try 'roll back driver', follow these steps;
- Open Device Manger from the Windows 7 Control Panel.
- In Device Manager, locate the device that you want to roll back the driver for (her its sound driver). (Navigate through the hardware categories by clicking the > icon. You can find specific devices under these major hardware categories.)
- After finding the hardware you're rolling back the driver for, right click on the device's name or icon and click on Properties.
- In the Properties window for the device, click the Driver tab.
- On the Driver tab, click the Roll Back Driver button. (If the Roll Back Driver button is disabled, Windows 7 does not have a previous driver to roll back to so you won't be able to complete this process.)
- Click the Yes button to the "Are you sure you would like to roll back to the previously installed driver software?" question.
The previously installed driver will now be restored. You should see the Roll Back Driver button as disabled after the roll back is complete.
- Click the Close button at the bottom of the device properties screen.
- Click Yes on the System Settings Change dialog box that says "Your hardware settings have changed. You must restart your computer for these changes to take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?"
DONE, Hope this helps,
Please rate if this solution was helpful, thanks!

Wifi card for HP Pavillion a400n. It does not have wifi now.

2004 , made, 15 years old PC, a BLAST fromt the PAST!
now"? so , yesterday you had wifi and today not?
are you at home or in a Cafe' or airport, where are you.
first is does your location have wifi.... (and distance to the AP)
AP is your local Access Point (at home a router with wifi)
also as important is the A400 is a very old desktop Tower.
and as such most had no wifi ,unless you added it.
on the rear is wifi card (PCI) with an antenna, if said antenna or car is missing then bingo no wifi.. see here ,? no wifi, just a silly old dial up modem there.
proof:
https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-pavilion-a400n-c-2-7-ghz-monitor-none-series/

on this PC you have 2 choices.
buy the pci card wifi plug it in
or buy USB wifi dongle.

you posted with NO OS,
is it windows?
if yes, what version
it came with windows XP is this the last XP running on earth?
XP is and its very bad IE6 is now banned on the internet.

Why does Wireless hardware switch not work, light stays orange and will not enable WiFi?

step one (guessing #4 down fails)
  1. are you at home, Starbucks ,air port or at work, (who's wifi)
  2. do other wifi devices work there., PC, TV, cell phones on wifi or ?
  3. if yes,#2, then move the laptop closer t the wifi router.
  4. If no and device manager shows 701 errors "? that means the drivers are wrong even infected not using HP.com drivers for your unstated OS. windows 7?
  5. on my HP laptops, it takes 2 drivers from them to work wifi,
  6. the wifi card driver must match (of up to 3 or more used new)
  7. and must have the control panel BUTTON driver working to control wifi.
  8. did you up grade it W10 and now wifi is dead , ? oops!
dv6-2155dx , seems was window 7 new, and frozen there,.
HP has no support now for this old PC. (besides asking on THEIR FORUM)

HP has short list of wifi cards they used, and only those work
HP blacklists all other non HP cards (unlike wonderful DELL)
so wrong cards are doomed to fail., as is w10
the correct card (1) is here
Intel 5100 512an_hmw Half Mini Pci-e WLAN WiFi Wireless Card 572507-001 for HP Laptop. for windows 7 only.

Is hp pavillion 533c wifi ready

Nope. Most desktops are not equipped with wifi adapter. If you do not have a plan to buy a newer computer, you have to think about investing a few thing. If my calculations are right could cost you round 30$ to 40$.
1. USB wifi adapter 15$25199670-hteicwtviizs0mofaamifrgr-5-0.png
2. USB extension cord (3 meters to 7 meters). This you will need to find good signal. 5$ to 10$25199670-hteicwtviizs0mofaamifrgr-5-1.jpg

3. If you don't have a USB port (which I don't see in the specs.), you need to buy pci USB card.

Caution to ask for "PCI USB expansion card".
Good luck, hope this helps.

Hp pavillion dv2000 from windows vista converted into windows 7 ultimate and audio driver does not work. No sound when downloaded a driver for windows 7. please help...

Unfortunately the HP Pavilion DV2000 came with Windows Vista and HP does not have the complete set of drivers, specially for Windows 7. In these situation, it is best to go directly to the hardware manufacturer's website to get the necessary drivers. Keep in mind that computer manufacturers are not really manufacturers. They just merely assemble these computers. They order the parts from different manufacturers. Here is a link where you can download the Window 7 compatible driver for the audio card that you have in your portable system. Just click on the download button in the middle of the page.
