560X Camcorder Handycam won't record or play

This behaviour is relaterd to tape reading / tape detection. You may have a dirty or worn-out head on the video heads drum.
You may try to use a cleaning tape in order to retrieve normal perfoming of your camcorder, BUT you should take care, as cleaning tapes are also abrasive tapes, and the amount of cleaning cycles a video head can support is limited.
Then it should be possible that after cleaning the result is nul or worse (I had this lately on an old Sony Camcorder, it was recording with much losses in the film, after using the cleaning tape it doesn't record any more).
All that means you may repair your camcorder with the cleaning tape, but you may finish it too, if the video heads are too old.

In any case take time to read the cleaning tape user manual, cleaning time is very short (10 seconds generally) and must'nt be overtaken.

Hope you would have the good result !

Unable to see any picture on my JVC GR-D22U Camcorder. Please help*

I bought 3 Sony camcorders at different times, I have used not more than 20 times, and my brother bought another kind of camcorder did the same, but after 3-4 years, automatically quit one by one, even my brother’s camcorder quit within 4 years, this is what I think, the big companies like Sony, Jvc etc., won’t let you use the same unit for a long time, from our case, made us thought, they probably put a timer to control the age of the camcorders. Maybe we have to know how to adjust or change the timer chap.

I am still research about this case. And also I have a lot of documents can not transfer.

Not recording clear.

Hello, please try to playback these new recordings on some other Camcorder. If you experience good picture on the borrowed Camcorder it means that the video head is (partly) damaged. In order to cure this the video head is to be replaced. Please contact the Authorized Sony Service or the technician with the best references. Best regards, Arpi

Sound is ok, but do not record images.

I have had the same problem since I purchased mine 4 years ago and it has been repaired 3x and is in the shop for a 4th. I had the extended warranty and Futureshop refuses to acknowledge that it is a Lemon and should be replaced as they don't consider resoldering wires as a "repair". My unit has been in the service center a total of 12 weeks over the 4 years. The service center recommends Sony Camcorders and the Claim center said they get few Sony camcorders so I would say the Canon problem is an issue that is common. Sorry to say. Mike

Red vertical smears on LCD display and on playback

Your camcorder is on a list with potentially defect CCD light sensors. Sony is replacing them free of charge. Go here for the link and free mailing label: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html
