Husqvarna k760 will not prime and/or run properly

Unit was getting hard to start so did compression test(100lbs), inspected and cleaned carb, inspected fuel lines(no holes), replaced fuel filter and primer bubble, and cleaned spark plug, check gas tank vent and it is ok. unit will fire up and run for about 20-30 seconds and dies. i figured it has an air leak but can't find it.

It runs off the fuel from the priming cycle, so no fuel from impulse air/diaphram. Check impulse air line is properly connected, not cracked (leakin), else diaphram may need replaced (carb rebuild kit).

SOURCE: Husqvarna 55 Chainsaw (1999) - Runs OK for 1 minute then stalls

I think your on the right track
Blowing compressed air through your tank vent
is great but it is way more air than the natural asperation
that the saw pulls on it own
I would replace the vent cap and also look for a pinched fuel line between the fuel tank and the carb

SOURCE: husqvarna 51 died and wont restart

hi
if you have a good compression,a strong enough blue spark and carburetion for the fuel air mixture try priming the engine(put small amount of gas in the spark plug hole)then start the engine. If the engine runs only the gas you put inside the cilinder there is a carburetion problem to find and fix.
let me know regards savumihai71

Not starting got spark not sure if enough when priming fuel not staying in line it seems to drain back spark plug does not get wet after priming and pulling and then removing plug to check if wet

You have confirmed that you have good spark. what you have left is to check for compression and fuel. Compression is needed for two reasons. The piston creates a vacuum that draws the air and fuel into the cylinder. The piston also compresses the mixture to get it ready for combustion. The only safe way to perform this test is with a compression tester. I have used my finger to run a quick test. To see if there is any compression but I can't safely describe how to do it that way. If you already know what i', talking about then it doesn't matter. After compression is tested and confirmed then you will more to the fuel system. You will need to start at the fuel supply line and determine that fuel is easily flowing to the carb. Then the carb will need to come of for a proper cleaning and inspection. These new carburetors don't last for ever. they are made of plastic and are not as strong as older metal versions. You CAN NOT use carb cleaner on these units. It will instantly destroy the jets. There is only one product that I use and recommend. Its called "Deep Creep" from Seafoam. it is a good product and it won't even melt Styrofoam. Take pictures during disasembly. There are small springs and rods that have to go back exactly where you found them. I hope this information helps. Please let me know how your repair is going and if you have any other questions, good luck,

My 2005 450x is hard to start and when it does start it will not stay running

Install a new stock spark plug. Clean the air filter then remove and clean the carb. Drain the gas tank, clean out rust and any trash, and remove the fuel valve to clean the internal tank filters. Now install an in-line fuel filter in addition to the tank filter.

Four controls are on your bike to assist in starting. Below are generic instructions.
  • The choke, used when the engine is cold. Pull the red knob for choke.
  • The " Hot Start " Lever, used when the engine is hot. Pull the lever to lean the fuel mix when the engine has been running.
  • The de-compression lever, always used.
  • The throttle, used to prime the cylinder, (power valve).
Don't kick, instead, push the kick lever downward. You will feel the back pressure as the piston is going upward on the compression stroke to the point the pressure is great enough that the kick lever "locks up". You are very close to TDC. NOW, pull in the de-compression lever. Push the kick lever a little bit more to get the piston past TDC. Now release the de-compression lever. Give the throttle a 1/4 turn then let it snap closed. A diaphragm, (Power valve), in the carb gives a shot of gas when this is done. DO NOT do this multiple times because you will flood the engine. Leave the throttle closed when kicking. A flooded engine will often backfire. Now give a strong kick through the full sweep of the kick start lever. Quickly get your foot off the kick lever at the end of the kick to avoid any chance of "kickback" from the kick lever. This happens in the case of a misfire, aka > backfire. It can be very painful, and can even break a leg. I am serious about that. Repeat the process (but without the throttle priming), for six kicks. After six kicks go ahead and twist the throttle again for a second priming. A good battery, a clean spark plug, a clean carb and clean air filter will also aid in starting. Note that not all carbs have a power valve. When a power valve is not present you should crack the throttle open only 1/8 inch from closed on each kick.

Snapper SS312 weed eater. Cranks when primed but won't run

I am sorry to say this, but the compression for that type of engine should be atleast 120 psi. Remove the muffler and look at the cylinder, it is scarred beyond repair.

Husqvarna 400 e series- I mixed the fuel 40-1 instead of 50-1

Hi
If you have good compression and spark at the spark plug try priming the engine(put some fuel mixture in the spark plug hole),set the carb adjustment(highh speed H=3/4 turn and lowspeed L=1 1/4 turn, turn the scews clockwise until the end and then set them.Try to start the engine. If it runs only the gas you puted inside the cilinder and then stops you have a fuel delivery problem to find and fix.First disassembly ,check and clean the carb. Then the fuel filter and the hoses.Let me know. best regards savumihai71

Saw will not start Husqvarna 350

Hi

An engine needs three things to run(fuel and air mixed together in the correct proportions, compresion of the fuel/air mixture and ignition).Make carb adjustments, check the compression and the spark from the sparkplug.Priming the engine(put some gas into the sparkplug hole).Try to start the engine. If engine is running only the gas from the cilinder, the chain saw has a fuel delivery problem.Disassembly the carb and clean the inner parts.Check the fuel and air filters, fuel hose and gas tank ventil.

Leafblower

check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and inspect the gasket; it should be soft and flexible, if it seems hard or brittle replace it. clean the carb with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. check the primer bulb for pin holes and seating/sealed properly. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.
