I found the solution! I flashed my phone (not literally. but literally. lol)
After much searching online, the following worked:
EDIT: Note that with this particular firmware version, in your
widget bar there will be a few widgets at the very bottom in some
Eastern European language, and they seem to be unremovable. Personally
I find them totally unobtrusive, especially compared with the
Apprentice ad. I'm sure there are firmware versions out there without
anything extra like this in them, but I guess that would be a case of
trial and error. This one works great for me, plain and simple.
I found this solution at another forum. It worked like a charm for me.
The ringtones and wallpapers that came with the phone are all still
there. The Meteor Apprentice ****E is gone!! :-)

NOT ACCEPTED: We mean, to use a sim card from a network other than the network your Samsung SGH-A887 Solstice is locked to.
CODE: Its the unique Unlock Code for your Samsung SGH-A887 Solstice .
If method 2 does not work, you can try method 2 again but this time without any SIM card on your Samsung SGH-A887 Solstice .
