Try removing any WAP, WEP first and see if the ipod can connect. Does the ipod see the connection?

SOURCE: NO RENEW LEASE BUTTON!! <<<< what is wep/wap

ok basically the problem with your ipod is that you either are not entering ur WEP key correctly or that you got your ipod from some corner shop down the street :) anyway, ur WEP key is probably not what you think it is because you have to have a router or other such wireless device for u to have one that works. but if u have it then make sure you go to router settings and then security and make sure it allows external devices to access its network, so it doesnt block the ipod. hope this helps :P if it doesnt, u better hope u have a warranty.......

My Ipod touch is not connecting to a wifi which has been working up until 2 nights ago, it still says it has medium signal strength, but if i open the itunes store or any other sort of internet connection,...

Have you had a software upgrade? I had exactly the same problem with a brand new 3rd gen iTouch and it turned out to be a problem with the itouch and the wifi encryption. Mine showed it was connected to the network but wouldn't access anything (invalid argument etc). I tried everything but no joy. Eventually I fixed it by changing the router's encryption from WEP to WPA2-PSK. Fixed it like magic. Where there had been no router or DNA data before, they were suddenly filled in. The key was different but was still on the bottom of the router. I had to re-enter the key on my wireless laptop2_bing.gif but that was a small price.

You can get into the router set-up page through your web browser. I found a guide on You Tube.

Good luck!

I would turn your itouch on and tap the top bar where the battery and signal show.
a screen will pop down and show your wireless connection. tap it ans check your settings.
make sure you renew lease on your wireless and use the wep code which is on the label of your wireless router.
you should have signal now

good luck

Cannot connect to internet with itouch

Go into Preferances, go to Wi-Fi, touch the blue cycle next to the Wi-Fi router you're conected to. Scroll to the bottom of the page and touch "Renew Lease", touch "Renew Lease" in the pop up. This may or may not work the first time. Either way, power off your iTouch by holding the "Power button" then sliding the slider. Turn it back on, go back to Preferences/Wi-Fi... Renew Lease... Try to open Safari. If it doesn't work the first time, no worries, try it all again. This is the solution, but if your iTouch gets glitchy, it can take a few tries. The most I've ever seen was 3 complete tries... "Renew Lease, Full Restart (slide to power off), Renew Lease"... one. Repeat!

HELP

All you should have to do is open Wi-Fi in system preferences. From there, touch the little blue circle next to the Wi-Fi network you're signed. Then, just hit "Renew Lease" at the bottom of the screen.
If that doesn't do it, completely turn your modem, Wi-Fi router and iTouch off. After 5 full minutes, turn on the modem, another 2 minutes later, turn on the Wi-Fi router, yet another minute at least, turn on your iTouch.
If that still doesn't work or you have any questions, feel free to call me.

Connections problems

I had that problem in the beginning with my iTouch.
Have you checked your IP address?
Try opening settings, then open Wi-Fi, then touch the blue circle with the arrow in it that's next to your Wi-Fi router's name.
Once you're looking at a screen with your network's name at the top and your iTouch's IP address in the middle, scroll to the bottom of the page and touch "Renew Lease", then confirm by doing it again on the popup.
Now, scroll back to the top of the page and wait a moment. You should see the IP address go blank and then a new number should appear.
Hopefully you're online, check by opening App Store or Safari.
If not...
Turn off your iTouch competely (hold the lock/power button until the "slide to power off" slider pops up, then slide it).
Next, turn off your Wi-Fi router and modem.
Wait 5 full minutes.
Turn on your modem, wait 2 full minutes.
Turn on your Wi-Fi router, wait 2 full minutes.
Turn on your iTouch.
If all that doesn't work, call Apple Care... 1.800.692.7753
