My JVC flat screen won't turn on, tried unplugging and resetting. Stand-by light is still on. And it's attached to a surge protector than to the wall. I've only had this for 1 year.

More than likely its bad capacitors on the Power supply very common problem with most models. You can get repair kits or replacement power boards from www.tvrepairworld.com

SOURCE: JVC LT-42E488. No picture. JVC logo comes up for a few seconds.

A firmware update might fix it. Call an authorized servicer, explain the symptom.

This tv problems are 90% to 95% is it a dying power supply board.Power LED light indicator blinks or tv take a really long time to come on.The tv problems indication are the power supply board have dying capacitors parts,it usally or alway bulges up or puffing up onto it tops and leaking, not giving the tv power supply voltages correctly anymore to the rest of the tv other boards. The tv power supply board, that the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.The tv shop, will charges u like 600-700 bucks, they'll repair the board or they'll put in another refurbish power supply board for the tv.U have some basic mechanical skills like take things aparts and putting it back together again?Yes,tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board to do the replacement ur self. The cost of power supply board like $100-150 bucks plus shipping the part to u.The take out and the reinstallation of the power supply board it pretty easy and straight forward,if u willing to take a chance and putting in some labors.

I have a 55" Panasonic flat screen that won't turn

Try disconnecting all of your HDMI cables and plugging the power cord of the TV into another wall outlet. If this resolves the issue, you may have had a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices. It is recommended to connect your TV to a surge protector if you haven't done so already.

NO POWER

Need to know how many times the led is blinking.

Re: tv kdl-55ex620 red light blink 8 times Do a Power Reset. 1. While the TV is off, unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet. 2. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds. 3. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.) 4. Turn on the TV. 5. When the TV powers on and a picture is displayed, reset the TV to factory default settings.
  • If the Reset message does not appear and the TV turns off and on, begin again from step 5.
  • If the standby light begins blinking eight times, return to step 1.
6. After the Reset message appears, allow the TV to reset. Do not press any buttons on the remote control or on the TV and do not make any other adjustments for 1 minute. 7. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. 8. Allow the TV to remain without power for 10 seconds. 9. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. 10. Turn on the TV.
  • The initial setup screen displays if the above procedures were performed correctly.
11. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial set up. 12. Perform a system software (firmware) update.

Power supply probably fried. You will have to take the TV apart to test.

Power in house went out. T.V. wont turn on.

Did you have a surge protector on the TV? Have you tried unplugging it for 5 minutes, if not try that. If it still won't work contact your local electrical power provider and start a claim for damages from the power outage.

There should be a surge release button on the surge protector to bring the protector back to normal (should be red in color) Some surge protection devices have this option so just check if your s has it. If that is not the case than I think that you might have blown a fuse in your TV.Might just have to open it up and change the fuse within with the same ratings, but please be careful because do have high voltages so get an experienced technician to do this for you.
Good Luck.
