Pulsar NX14 Digital Display gone blank

The digital display of my Pulsar Nx14 has gone blank. Pressing buttons etc does nothin to change display. Nothing in manual about this type of problem. Less than a year old so would it be battery at this early stage?

Do not panic yet - all you need is the battery replacement.
Don't mind that the watch is less than a year old - it may laid in sellers store for a year or so and as the watches are not refitted with the brand new battery at the selling point, they may have underpwered battery much more quicker than you expected
Find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for battery replacement. Your watch will tick as brand new and will last much longer then before.

Do not forget to rate, please.

Replacing the batteries in a seiko/pulsar nx14 is tricky, but can be done DIY.
- remove the back (preferably with special tool, otherwise with pliers/siccors).
- pull out the stem while pushing down in the hole indicating 'push'
- now lift the whole movement out of the case.
- unhinge the metal cover. Careful, things might come out!
- replace batteries
- revert

All you have to do is to set the digital time. After pressing the upper left button for 2-3 seconds the display digits start to flash.By pressing lower left button (MODE) once at a time and by using the left side buttons, you can set the right time, date etc. When finished press upper left button again to complete setting.Automatically the hour and minute hands will be set to the correct time following the digital time.

The hour & minute hands on my pulsar nx14-x001 do not move. the second hand quivers, but also does not move. the digital time and other functions are okay. HELP!

Without knowing the model of the watch i would say you need a new battery. It is typical for this style of watch to have two batteries or one lithium battery. In either case the analog movement will drain faster than the digital portion of the watch and will stop working first.

No manual

On the Pulsar website they tell you that the manuals are organized by "calibre" number. I did a search and I think the calibre number of your watch is NX14. If that's right, here's a link to the manual:

http://www.pulsarwatches-europe.com/PDFUpload/NX14_E.pdf

If that's not the right calibre number then look at this Pulsar site to find out what is the right calibre number:

http://www.pulsarwatches-europe.com/instructions.asp

By the way, Internet Explorer kept telling me I need to download a Language Pack when I clicked on the above links. I just hit "cancel" and everything loaded fine.

At last count far less than half of the solutions I've provided have gotten a vote or a response. I think the benefit of this site is when a solution (right or wrong) get's some feedback so others can learn from it...my two cents.
