PCV-RS60G Sony, runn a bit faster?

Well first off this computer runs like the CPU will be at maby 10% Usage but the hardisk will be at 100% usage, on the pageing file.
I have tryed to add a 2nd Harddrive to the system and set it to be the only disk doing the Pageing-file. with no luck no change in its speed. i did notive the ram is running at 250Mhz of its 333Mhz is there a way we can make the ram run at 400Mhz, and have it not use the disk so much?

Hi again - just wanted to mention the SSD HDD's have simple adaptors to work with IDE only pc's. That said - I hihgly recommend you upgrade to a dual core pc. for the cost you will incure - the head aches you will avoid and the satisfaction you will get I would strongly suggest you get a new [er] pc if not a new one. I didn't 'look up the pc ' but I did search it and never even came up with the exact pc. I don't mean to be rude but I would not even bother to answer had I known the pc is that old because - there are so many things on the mother board alone that will cause the same problems - HEAT. You never said how much ram you have in the pc? Thing is for the price of a ram and other upgrades like a hdd and maybe a video card you can buy a new pc or a great used on from Craigslist. Bestr of it on getting up to speed. Gary

As it looks like you know - RAM is the solution.
Even before that you sound like someone who will benefit with a fresh install no matter what your operating system is. After a fresh install :
Not knowing what you have I can only suggest you go to
www.crucial.com and follow instructions. You will need to upgrade the ram and you will really benefit with a new HDD - make it an SSD HDD even though smaller they are very fast. Set the one hdd as your MASTER and your second as SLAVE this will allow you to run way faster than the set up you have now.

Best of it

No, find out which program is using all those resources (use Task Manager for that) and uninstall it.

CPU usage 100%

This is due to memory and program usage.
Depending on your computers specs. try these steps
1. Disk clean and defrag
2. Virus, spyware, malware, Trojan, rocket scan and removal
3. Registry cleaner and optimizer
4. Check disc space on the C: drive
5. Turn off unnessasery programs auto starting

If this does not work it maybe that you need to upgrade your computer or add some extra RAM.

My Toshiba satellite pro M10 very slow.

check your system performance thru task manager. check for CPU usage. usually COU usage is 1% to 10%. if your CPU usage would peak from 10% to 100% there is a huge possibility that there is program running on your computer that eats up your memory. Or it could be spyware/malware
