SOURCE: Water Tank Will Not Stop Running Water

the reason your water keeps running is because the float has not closed of the valve in the stem on the left side. a quick fix is i take the rod that has the float on it and bend it down a little. i also make sure that the plug that fits over the drain seats properly alot of times through age the plug tends to harden up and not seat properly. if you cant get it to seat replace it. if your model has an adjustment screw on the valve body try adjusting that as well.......good luck please rate this

SOURCE: american standard toilet

I have the American Standard Champion 4 toilet. Water is leaking from the tank to the bowl causing the toilet to refill. I've replaced the flapper and cleaned the surface the flapper contact. Nothing seems to work.

SOURCE: American Standard Champion toilet keeps running

Readjust the float. the longer it is the more leverage the fill water will have on it. good luck. The fill valve does come apart and cleaned if there is debri in it. Turn the water off first:)

SOURCE: hole in back of toilet (stool) leaks water.

The hole your refering to is common in the manufacturing of toilets and is generally filled before it leaves the manufacturing. I have repaired several toilets, new toilets, all American Standard, using a good grade of epoxy - not silicone. I used West System epoxy as this is made for marine projects and surprisingly states "toilet repair" as one of the uses of their product. I'd suggest carefully chipping the smooth porcelan around the hole to give the epoxy something to grip. Use a knife or screwdriver to gently chip the edges and make sure the area is dry. Press the epoxy into the hole and give it enough time to cure before putting it back in service. Of course, if the toilet is less than a month old I suggest returning it and getting a new toilet.

Porcher 6.0 Lpf / 1.6 toilet. Plumber said he

Try replacing the flapper, they are cheap and so long as the tank and or bowl are not cracked you can replace all of the internal parts and basically have a brand new toilet much cheaper then replacing the entire unit. Go down to your local hardware store and everything you need is in one simple kit with very simple instructions. Good Luck.

Flapper will not go down

Troy, the flapper otherwise known as the flush valve is easily replaced. They are also very inexpensive. Sometimes they can become distorted due to the clorine in the water and won't operate in the same way they did when it was new. I bet this will fix your issue and save you money as well.
