Installing carbon brushes on Bosch WFK 2401

Hi, I am trying to replace the carbon brushes (part # 154740) on the Bosch WFK 2401 washing machine. Could you list out the steps for replacing carbon brushes. I am having trouble identifying where the brushes are located.

Thanks,

Mike G.

Remove rear panel of washer.
Remove drive belt.
Unscrew the 2 bolts that hold motor to tub back.
Remove motor plug
Lever notor back with a screwdriver or similar, keeping a firm hold on motor.and remove motor
At the rear end of motor away from pulley you will see the brushes and the armature.
Remove brushes, and if there is less than 4 or 5mm of carbon left, then replace them.
Lightly clean the armature with emery cloth.
Refit in reverse order. Test.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

The main motor is not working. Model bosch wfk 2401

Please can you describe exactly what the machine does?

Here are main possibilities
motor brushes need to be replaced -most likely

defective motor control board
loose connectors
also..
motor tach (determines if motor is moving) circuit failed (unlikely but still possible)

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

My washing machine is not spining

It is likely that the Carbon Brushes of your Bosch washing machine need replacement. Get them from your nearest Bosch Spares stockist (P/N: 154740) Replace these on the motor armature, and it will be alright again. To be certain that it is indeed the Carbon brushes, open your washing machine and look on the motor (opposite side of the pulley) There has to be 2 grayish chalk type brushes running on a copper armature, these brushes have a lifetime of about 4 - 6 years before being diminished.

Hope this helps

To change brushes in Bosch motor.
Remove rear panel of washer, undo 2 screws that secure motor at front end, remove motor plug, lever motor back with a screwdriver or similar, and remove motor retaining a hold on it,\ so as not to drop it .
Replace brushes fitted at rear end of notor.
Refit motor and belt.

Washer won't agitate

this sounds like it is a relay on the module (main pcb) if the carbon brushes have been fitted correctly then there is a fault on the module, these items are replaced as a unit, i would also look to see if the machine has a capacitor fitted, this also could have the same effect and would be a much cheaper repair to start with, a capacitor is normally situated at the top where the mains wire enters the machine, its normally about 2 inches long and 1 inch round with 2 wires from it, work with safety unplug before doing anything
