The question is a little vague, but if its running under stress and is shutting down, then its likely to be overheating and the unit is protecting itself.
Get a can of compressed air (or a vacuum cleaner, if you dont want to cough up) and clean the heatsink and fan ports.
If its not this, and you mean it keeps going into standby, either switch this off in Windows (Start -- Control Panel -- Power options) or go into your Bios and see if there is an option in their.
You can also usually switch off the 'CPU stepping' and leave it on full speed all the time (battery life will suffer).

It's only shut off on me once so far, but has been running really warm for the last day or 2. I had IE open and yahoo messager, and suddenly no power, it was dead. I was thinking this may have something to do with the temp of the unit itself the last couple of days, anyone have any ideas?
