    That is correct Your Motherboard is ONLY for AMD, Intel WILL NOT FIT/WORK on YOUR AMD motherboard. You cannot use Intel processors.

    I have purchased many used CPU's over the years, some as low as $6.00, i've had very good luck. But of course , the choise is yours. Take a look on the used Computer Parts websites and Ebay, to get and idea of the price difference. Your processor is not bad. Have you added more Memory, (If you have a 32 bit OS , your OS can only use appx. 3.80GB's)? Faster HDD, (5400 to 7200rpm's)? Just a processor isn't going to improve as much as you may think. It's a system, component depends on the other component. Make sure you do all the research . Take a look at this :http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Dual-co...

    You have a AMD Mobo, you can only use AMD processors. The Model of you computer isn't the issuse so much as the model of the Mobo. Variations of your model laptop have different specs. Fing the Make, Model of MOTHERBOARD and , if you can locate it, the specs will give you the AMD CPU's That are compatible with YOUR MOTHERBOARD. Here a little program that may assist you:http://www.filehippo.com/download_speccy... Sometimes the specs for YOUR MOTHERBOARD can not be found.

SOURCE: 1.8 GHz Mobile AMD Sempron 3000+ processor upgrade

To upgrade your system with AMD 3000+ sempron processor is a little bit difficult. AMD 3000+ requires a new motherboard that may not be compatible with your laptop. So I suggest you to get your laptop exchanged with a new one with the above.

SOURCE: Hp 530 notebook cpu upgrade

It's not posible to upgrade to a dual core, the motherboard is a different design. Keep in mind that the processor, motherboard and memory have a matched frequency. If the processor doesn't match the board then it won't recognize it. Since the board does recognize the T2300, it may be that you need to match the memory in order to get it to boot. Match the memory by going to patriotmem.com and entering the model that the T2300 came from, it will tell you the memory frequency. If the memory matches the processor simply will not work with that board.

SOURCE: Can I upgrade my CPU to an Intel Core 2 duo 1.7

You are basically limited to what was optional on the model. So you can only upgrade to one of the following cpus:

Intel Pentium M 745 (1.8-GHz) with 400-MHz front
side bus (FSB)
Intel Pentium M 735 (1.7-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Pentium M 725 (1.6-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Pentium M 710 TJ85 (1.4-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB;
operates at a lower temperature than other processors
Intel Celeron M 340 (1.5-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB
Intel Celeron M 330 (1.4-GHz) with 400-MHz FSB

And you are limted to 2gb of ram max on this model.

What is the best upgrade cpu for a compaq presario sr5110nx 32 bit vista O.S... ATHLON 64 (single core) without having to go to 64 bit, and/or new drivers ?

The 400W PSU is going to limit your CPU selection to dual-core at best, although you might be able to get away with a higher-end dual-core CPU if your RAM is not ECC and not dual-channel, and you're not running anything serious in terms of a graphics or sound card or a SCSI array.

Given your current setup I'd really look for a 1.6Ghz dual-core Athlon which has a decent amount of KB in its Level 1 and Level 2 cache, but 3MB for its Level 3 cache.

Anything beyond that ballpark of a CPU upgrade is certainly well within the bounds of diminishing returns, and you should look at getting a new PSU, motherboard, and probably RAM (I'm guessing you're using DDR2 RAM currently).

The processor upgrades available to you depend on your particular system; in particular, the motherboard hardware and BIOS installed by your computer manufacturer. They do not depend on the processor you already have.

Upgrade HP Compaq Presario F750US - CPU, GPU & RAM

You'll spend more money trying to upgrade this laptop then it would cost to just buy a better used one on eBay. Probably even spend more that it would cost to buy a new low end computer. Save yourself the headaches and time and buy a NEW laptop.

Compaq presario sr1750nx Athlon 64 3500+ 2.20GHz Processor

Hi zcaldwell1;

You have the option of upgrading your processor without buying a new system. I wouldn't purchase the other system, If you looking to upgrade look at the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 6400+, that will step you up to 3.2GHz, which is compatible with your motherboard. You can get more information on it HERE. And for more information on your motherboard you can find that HERE.

The only thing you want to make sure off is that you have enough power to handle this processor. If you have a 450 or up power supply you'll be fine.

Good Luck

Mark
