Volume keeps going down on samsung t260hd

The volume on my TV would randomly start to decrease and goes down to zero, just as if I was pressing the volume down button on the remote. Pressing the volume up button on the remote will most times bring the volume back up. Pressing the volume up button on the side of the TV will always bring the volume back up. The above pressing of UP buttons does not totally fix the problem because after a while the volume will automatically go down again. Sometimes while pressing the volume up button on the remote to restore the volume after it was automatically reduced, there appears to be a battle between the volume up and whatever is causing the volume down. I have checked and found that there are no stuck buttons on the remote or on the side of the TV. I thought that the volume down problem was being caused by the remote itself going rogue and sending out the signal to bring down the volume on its own, so I removed the batteries and left it for a while. I even removed the remote from the room. The problem occured again with the remote in a non-functional state. Has anyone seen this problem? Can anyone provide a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance. Donald

Hello lily liver,
The problem with the television not being able to receive signal from the remote seems not to be too strange a problem as these devices can come up with mind bursting problems.
The problem with the television simply is from the sensor of the television. There is a metal that holds the televisions sensor so as for it to be able to receive signal from the remote. The metals could be rusty and break off the position where it is meant to be and would be having partial contact on the main board of the television.
The entire control panel is also linked to this sensor board, that is why it acts funny once in a while. The best thing to do is to have the control panel on the television replaced as well as the sensor light on the television. It is no longer receiving signal properly from the remote.
Resetting the television could last only for a period of time, therefore, the lasting solution to the problem is simply for you to have the control panel of the television replaced as well as the remote sensor that is in the television.
The solution to the problem is simply for you to replace the control board and the sensor of the television. That would solve the problem for you.
Hope this information was helpful in solving the problem. All the best Elect_Comp

I have toshiba tv and the volume keeps decreasing to zero. If I try to turn it up on the remote or tv it automatically goes to zero

There is a damaged [leaky] transistor at the electronic volume control section circuit. Contact any service technician. To locate the exact one, is a skilled work. Even though the cost of component will be too less, the service personal will have to strain to locate it, and he/she will charge for it. http://google.com/+GopakumarGopalan

The volume button must be smashed in,dirty,or defective...I would try pressing the volume- several times repeatedly..maybe try cleaning it with a can of air.

Volume turns to zero constantly

Sounds like your volume down button is jammed in on the set, you may need to take it to a repair shop if you can't free it up from the outside.

The volume in my 2009 Kia Sedona randomly decreases. I was driving and listening to the radio and all of a sudden the volume starting decreasing until it got to zero. I turned the volume back up and it...

Not sure about your car, but they come equipped now with a program that will decrease the sound level due to the traffic around and increase the volume to compensate for road noise. The best thing is to look in your manual, under the radio section and see if there is a section for this issue. If so, it can be disabled. We have a car that does it and I flipped out when it started so I disabled it. Not alot of help but it will give you a little insight to a possible solution.

Volume decreasing to zero by itself

Have you looked to see if the Button on the tv itself is stuck in. Press it and you might be able to feel for it sticking. If this is the case you may want to try a baby wipe or something similar to try and sort this out. (dont use a sopping wet cloth)

hope you get this sorted.

I need to re tune my samsung tv but have no remote any ideas?

you can always use the button on your Tv itself.

ie menu = Menu
Channel up/down = take you up and down
volume = goes left and right.

follow these steps

Menu,
channel down button to CHANNEL
press the volume button along
channel down button to AUTO STORE
press the volume button to Start the scan.

right now you have your telly tuned in. What you could do it get an old sky remote off a friend/ neighbour. or buy from argos etc ( a lot cheaper then getting a replacement samsung one)

press the following buttons on the sky remote to program it to work with your samsung tv.

TV,
RED + SELECT
TV.
0060

try the volume if this works press SELECT to save this code if it doesnt press Tv then try the volume again. repeat this step until the volume works your telly. once it doest dont forget to press the SELECT button to save.

Now you will be able to change your volume use the number keys. if you also press the HELP button on the sky remote this will also change your AV / SOURCE I hope this post helps you out. When it does please leave a thumbs up for me Please
