You may have power, however if a circuit board fails, all the power in the world won't start the washer. You need a technician to test the circuit for internal damage.

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher stopped working...

It sounds like the thermal fuse in the control console has blown.
Turn power off to unit.
Remove the outer door panel and then the console.
Remove the black plastic cover from over the circuit board if it has one.
You should see the thermal fuse clipped to the circuit board housing.
If you have an ohm meter, check for continuity across it, it should read closed.
If you don't have a meter, unplug the wires from it and and hook them together.
Turn power back on to unit, hold door switches down and cancel cycle. The washer should drain the water.
If this doesn't work, check your door switches to make sure they are closing properly.

SOURCE: problems with Whirlpool dishwasher model GU1500XTKB0

will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.
good luck

SOURCE: Whirlpool Type 575-0 Dishwasher has a film on the glass ware

try only filling the detergent cup halfway. but before doing that run a cup of vinegar through the dishwasher. that should solve the problem. you are using to much detergent. plus use powder detergent if it is stated in your owners manuel.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Dishwasher acting as if there is no power to it

I had this problem just two days ago. For me it was the thermal fuse. On my dishwasher it is located on the main control board, at the top. It is white and has two wires going into to separate terminals. It says "Microtemp" on it. I used a small wire to short it and see if that was the case. Be careful though. There is also another fuse on the bottom of the dishwasher that looks like a little black cylinder with a silver cap, and two terminals coming out of it for wires. In our case that fuse was fine.

My dishwasher stopped working, bought within the past few months, it seems like no power is getting to it. I've checked the breaker and all other appliances in house are fine.

Please provide make and model number of the dishwasher along with some indication of the last cycle it completed before this problem occured.

Whirlpool dishwasher won't start

I have had the same problem with my dishwasher. I.e., the buttons don't respond (no LED) when you press them. Only the "Cancel/Drain" light works and the dishwasher reacts to cancel/drain. I found a diagnostic in the kick panel that has you press; "heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal" within 6 seconds and the washer goes through a diagnostic. All of the tests perform as they should and at the end the washer works again. I don't know why unless doing this resets the circuit board. Does anyone know?

Dishwasher stopped and will not start

Try jigling the ribbon cable that is connected to the control panel. These ribbon cables sometimes fail. Also check the fuse on the control board to see if it is blown.

Whirlpool quiet partner III

Hello bckp,
Welcome to Fixya

If your dishwasher does not run or stops during a cycle

Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing? Opening the door or
interrupting the power stopped the cycle. Close the door and
press START/RESUME.
Does the Start/Resume indicator flash 3 times when you
press START/RESUME? The dishwasher is waiting for you to
open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door,
then press START/RESUME.
Is the door closed tightly and latched?
(NOTE: On models with a dual-digit display, the control
displays “- -” during a cycle if it believes the door is not
latched.)
Is the right cycle selected? Refer to the “Cycle Selection
Charts.”
Is there power to the dishwasher? Has a household fuse
blown, or has a circuit breaker tripped?
Has the motor stopped due to an overload? The motor
automatically resets itself within a few minutes. If it does not
restart, call for service.
Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
It is normal for certain cycles to repeatedly pause for several
seconds during the main wash.

If the dishwasher will not fill

Check the overfill protection float that is able to move up and down
freely? Press down to release.

Let me know if any of these procedures helped you?
