I want to watch movies from my external hard drive on my LG LCD tv and need to know what lead/s i will need to do this?
The LG's will support an external USB hard drive, but it seems the USB support was intended for thumb drives, so yuo need to do the following to get it working:
I have a 60GB laptop drive in a USB 2.0 enclosure drive working really nicely with good transfer rates. It takes it's power from the USB socket and is working fine.
Hope this helps.
Purchase the Iomega screenplayer Mod.34200 multimedia external HD w/500GB of storage it holds 750Hrs of movies. cost around $119.99 read/reviews Jeff the archer

LG HDTVs sadly don't support hard drives, or movies from the usb 2.0 port. (yet) (I'm guessing that you are talking about that.)The TVs only support JPEGs and MP3s from a flash type USB drive.
You will find the transfer rate is too slow to make a good movie watching experience, in my opinion.
But simply connect the drive to your computer like you normally do and connect your TV to your computer as normal, then begin playing the movie.
You posted this in the Dell Dimension 3000 catagory. If you are really trying to connect an external hard drive directly to your TV and play movies with no computer involved, it can't be done.
this is not a hard drive it is a ho e theater system called a sou dbar
