Jenn-Air SVE87600B Grill Outage (F2 Fault Code)

Hello all! I am back again. I must confess, my efforts to solve this problem were overcome by other more pressing events, and I was not able to pursue this until now. To restate the problem with the grill on my Jenn Air SVE87600B Range, When I turn on the rear left element, the fan starts but an alarm sound and a Fault Code F2 appears on the LED display shortly thereafter. I looked up the Fault Code F2 on the trouble shooting chart and it directs me to check the "Ohm Sensor", and refers me to a chart for different temps and their corresponding Ohmic values. It goes on to say that if the Ohms Sensor checks out okay then the Power Relay Board should be replaced. Well, I can't seem to find this Ohm Sensor. Can someone direct me to the location of the Ohm Sensor? Thanks!

SOURCE: Jenn-Air SVE87600B (corrected model#) Grill Fault

I think when they are saying ohm sensor, they are trying to say to test the resistance (ohms) of the temp sensor/thermistor.

So either the element is not shutting off (power supply to it), the temp sensors faulty (or too close) or the element if faulty(would be my first step)

Knowledge is from my own version of logic this is not my field of expertise but decided due to "any guidance request" I'd put my 2 cent in, but I'd say element if you haven't changed it or it is the temp sensing device, but then thinking about it if your last board in another area got zapped then maybe it is whatever circuit that provides power to the element

Cheers

Where can I get Ignitors for my gas grill Jenn Air model 729-0163 ?

If you purchased your Jenn Air grill from Lowe's, it's not really a Jenn Air. Lowe's bought the rights to use the name and place it on the grill. This grill was made exclusively for Lowe's The grill is made by NEX Grill Corp. You can find them on line by doing a Google search. If it is in fact, a true Jenn Air Grill, any appliance dealer that sells Jenn Air kitchen appliances can help you obtain them through their parts dept..

My jenn-air oven has an F2 code. What is the prob?

Hello there and thanks for choosing fixya
ok on these ovens the f2 code is a fairly common issue

what this is telling you is 1 of 2 possibility's
first is the controle board is failing if this is a older oven this is fairly common these boards do go out after time and need to be replaced
and the second is that the temperature sensor is not able to detect the correct temperature of the oven thus letting the oven get above the desired temp,,, if this is the case you will want to have the temperature sensor replaced ok ?
Please post me a comment back if you have any more information on this and i can steer you in the right direction on how to fix this

Display on clock fade out but if i cover it for a few min it come back up mod. jenair cook top sve87600b

Hello,

I've often seen the display on these units go dim due to a failure in the control board. It may well start out as an intermittent failure. Your comment about covering it reminds me that some ovens have an ambient light sensor to automatically dim the display but I don't recall seeing that on your model.

In either case, it sounds like the classic failure mode we often see.

If you can have the control removed, we may be able to help you, we repair oven controllers at www.fixyourboard.com.

What a scam by service personnel.
-Simply press "Stop/Clear", then gently push the door handle until "Lock" appears on the screen. Press "Stop/Clear" again and the door unlocks itself!

Jenn air propane grill conversion

It is inconceivable to me that large manufacturers like Jenn-Air and Nexgrill can jointly make and sell an expensive grill and then completely abandon the consumer. I purchased an Jenn-Air 740-0142 LPG and like so many wanted to convert to nautural gas which requires a larger gas orifice. I spent a month on the internet and phone calling Jenn-Air and finally Nexgrill who actually manufactured the unit in China. The Jenn-Air and Nexgrill serial numbers are the same. the 740 prefix is LPG and the 750 prefix is natural gas. After three calls to Nexgrill I found a manager who actually acknowledged making Jenn-Air but declined selling me parts for it as I believe they have product liability concerns. I call back as a Nexgrill owner and finally ordered natural gas orifices at $10.00 each. The shipment never showed up. Calling back again I was told that they really didnt really have any orifices in stock but could sell me the entire replacement gas valve for $28.00 which I purchased. The valves actually arrived on the shipping receipt was from The Grill Services in City of Industry 909-718-6128 www.grillservices.com . Part number 750-0141/142/593/594.

Forget about pirates in Somalia... we have them right here. Shame on you Jenn-Air and Nextgrill.

Fault codes

F5- means poer to element relays are disabled in cook mode. Reset it(by removing the power to the unit) and if it happens again, sensor could be intermittent or contact on prb(power relay board) is deffective
