I called Element TV they said the Tint adjustment/controls on most Digital Element TVs are programmed for "Non adjustment"with digital signals:
On Large Element TVs , the "Tint" controls are used only for Analog Video and for NTSC viewing, but the controls are inoperative or blanked-out when watching PAL or SECAM digital signals (my is HDMI directly from Digital cable box).

SOURCE: Color has strong green tint - can't adjust with set-up program

One color plug in the back was unplugged - Since the TV had not moved we didn't think to look for that. The cable bundle must have been bumped causing the problem - I feel a bit silly that I hadn't looked for that. Thanks for your follow-up.

SOURCE: all my channels have a green tint on them.

You have not provided any details about your system. What components are in your system? How they are connected? Etc.
Have you tried resetting the TV? Have you tried switching inputs around?

Unable to adjust the tint

Hi,

I think your TV may not have this option at all. However, I can also come up with other ideas:

Some adjustments might become unavailable depending on the input or content, have you tried adjusting this parameter in different inputs? e.g. TV channels, HDMI, composite, component? Or different content? e.g. HDMI input but with a signal from a bluray player playing a bluray disc vs. signal from a bluray player playing a DVD. If you don't see the tint "unlocked" in any of these different scenarios the option might as well be natively unavailable.

How do I adjust tint?

Within the past week bought this exact set, had the same issue & figured it out. The set does not allow tint adjustment for digital channels. Just tune to any analog non-HD channel and you'll be able to access the tint control & adjust. I have a more expensive Vizio set I've had a few years where this is not so. I think some of newer sets are being made this way.

Here is something that may help from the toshiba.com website under your model number television. Q. Why are people on my screen green?
Models: 32HL17, 37HL17, 42HL17, 42HL167, 47HL167, 52HL167, 42HL167, 42LX177, 46LX177, 52LX177, 57LX177

If the problem is not the connections, try adjusting the tint on your television. A high tint setting will usually create a green
image on the screen where as a low tint will create a more red hue. In order to access your television's tint:
1. Press the “MENU” button on your remote control and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys and select the
VIDEO menu.
2. Then use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS and press the "ENTER" button on
your remote.
3. Next use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight TINT then use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to adjust the
TINT. If the picture is too green the tint will need to be lowered.
4. Once you have adjusted the tint to your liking, use the DOWN arrow key to highlight DONE and press ENTER. The toshiba customer service telephone number is : 1-800-631-3811. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Colorimetre HCFR software
AVC HD 709 calibration disk
Spyder2 colorimeter (I know most prefer the Eye-One meters, but the Spyder2 was available from my job at no cost)

Here are the settings:

PS3 Blu-Ray player

Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (important!!! NOT RGB output)
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI): On (this TV can reproduce video at 48hz for accurate 2:2 pulldown)
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super White (HDMI): On (not sure if this matters)

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.

Hi, bad news guys, from your brief description you have a bad light engine, you both need to have a tech verify this but thats most likely what is causing your symptom. This is NOT a layperson repair, you`ll need a tech, BMW Rider
