Washer is "walking" during the spin cycle

When my washer reaches the spin cycle is starts to walk and then is no longer level causing an awful noise. I do know that my floor is sloped and that is causing the problem. Is there someway I can level the machine and stop the walking without having to cement the legs to the floor?

I will try the try the mesh for rug tricks. The machine is about 3 years old. When I have re-leveled the machine the problem goes away for a while and then it starts to walk again. So I think the mesh for under the rug will be a good first try. Thanks for your help.

My washer moved all over the room, was so noisey. I have ceramic tile floor. I took an old mesh rubber mat we used for non-slip in the shower, cut 2'"pieces, put them under each leveling pad, re-leveled my machine. Problem solved!! the machine is so quiet!!

I have the same Duet that vibrates heavily during spin cycle. Leveled the unit with no success (our unit is mounted on the high base). Long story short, I went to Lowes and purchased a package of 4"X5" self stick foam rubber pads called Grippers by Wasman Consumer Group and paid a low price of $3.50. Since the washer walked forward, I cut one of the two Pads in the package in half, removed the sticky side paper protector and centered a half, sticky side to washer pad, to each front washer pad. The problem was solved.

I made sure the round floor pads of the washer were tight and the unit was level before attaching the Grippers. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem with my LG...mostly vibration problem on spin. I purchased anti-vibration pads from frontloadtoad dot com. They are big hockey puck looking pads...they did the job for the vibration. I still have a little walking when load is unbalanced...I will try the suggestions above for that.

How old is your washer? Is it bran new? Read your owners manual it will tell you how to properly level your washer and what type of floor you need. Raised surfaces will cause more of a vibration and with front loaders this is common because they spin 10 times faster than your regular top loader. but if it is banging itself inside and you hear the drum hitting the side of the cabinet you may be having a diffrent issue. Is the washer basket tilted to one side real low? Is the washer on a pedistal. If it is on a pedistal and on a raised surface YES this will cause way more vibration than if it was on a solid slab floor. What I do to eliminate walking is I cut 2 squares of mesh You know the stuff you put under rugs so that you do not slip. Well I cut 2 squares of it it is rubber and i put them under the front 2 feet so it give a little more grab so the washer does not walk. Or you can get some dampening pads that are made for front load washers. I would have to research that part number if you want me to. Let me know

Put a rug under the front 2 feet

Also, make sure that the locking nuts are tight. look at the feet you will see a bolt make sure it's tight after leveling

Just wondering is this a MAYTAG of WHIRLPOOL? If it's a maytag there is a new design computer with a motion sensor. Instead of the washer continueing to spin in an off balance situation the new computer will slow the rpms down and reajust the load. And then spin again when load has been adjusted

Washer walks across floor on spin cycle and my level says its level

If the level is registering the machine as level, then you probably have an unbalanced load that is causing it to "walk." When it starts walking, lift the lid, wait until the spinning stops and redistribute the articles in the basket. I hope this helps. Model MAH9700 - Washer travels across floor in the spin cycle

I suppose that the repairmen would know than I would, but I do know that any washing machine that is not level will walk and vibrate and really shutter on the spin cycle. I would try to level (using a level on the top part of the machine that is flat, if there is such a portion) the machine so that all four feet (pads) are secure with their locking nuts up against the body so that they can't turn and cause the machine to go out of level.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

On something like this you will need to remove the washer wrap to inspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Please see the link provided for accessing the inside of the washer. Be sure the shipping pins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

Whirpool Duet "walking"

Hi, most of the time this can be a simple as a overload that will dramatically shake this type of washer. due to its front load design, it is recommeded to load accordingly to specs. overloading this type of washer will induce walking/excessive vibration during the spin cycle.

LG1812CW Walks During Spin Cycle

The rear 2 legs are fixed. The front 2 are adjustable. There are lock nuts to prevent the adjustment from coming loose. The front legs are to be adjusted to the minimum. While not running if the machine rocks, continue the adjustment. For few clothes there is a half load switch; best the read the manual well before anything. Well if the walking continues, check the rear for any shocks or springs that may hv fallen off during transport. Plug off the wall socket first.
