The
ink reservoir doesnt have to be completely empty to fail. Replace the
cartridges. Some of the jets or all of them may be clogged especially if you
have not used your printer in a while. If there are cleaning instructions in
the manual clean the jets and then try to print from the printer's self test
Replace Ink Cartridges Your Epson Stylus NX110 Series and its software will let you know when an ink cartridge is low or expended. If ink is low, the ink light flashes. You can continue printing until a cartridge needs replacement. If a cartridge is expended, the ink light stays on. You must replace the cartridge to be able to print. Warning: Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink. Note: If you need to change a cartridge before it or any other cartridges are low or expended, run the Ink Cartridge Replacement utility.
You cannot print or copy when an ink cartridge is expended even if the other cartridges are not expended. Replace any expended cartridges before printing or copying.
To replace an ink cartridge using the maintenance button, follow these steps. Turn the printer on, the power light should be on and not flashing.
Open the printer cover. Press the maintenance button (ink-drop symbol). The print head moves to the black ink cartridge replacement position first. Press the maintenance button again to switch to the color cartridge replacement position.

Some of Epson's cartridges went bad that way. It may be a bad cartridge. Get a new one, pull that one out and see what happens. If it works, call Epson for a refund. They had a class action suit for that type of thing, they lost and paid off. I would think they will help you right away.
