Error message: unapproved battery

If you have insurance on your phone getting it wet will invalidate all warranties and insurance. The only time insurance can be used if the phone is malfunctioning (not from getting wet), or LOST. If your phone is lost, they will give you a brand new one under the insurance policy.

The only piece of a mobile that can go bad when dunked is the LCD screen if it has liquid in it.

1. If you do not want to purchase anything, you can try to remove the lens from the LCD screen and see if any water is between the lens and the lcd. (the lens is the glass that covers the lcd which is usually stuck on with double sided tape.)

2. You can purchase a new lcd and install it.

3. to disassemble the phone follow these instructions:

4. replace the screen, and the phone should be good as new.

When the battery got wet, it short circuited. So what you need to do is take the battery out and put the battery and the phone in a bowl of rice overnight or for 7-8 hours. If it doesn't work after that, try leaving the phone (opened up) and the battery next to a running hair-drier for a few hours. But do not leave the hair-drier on when you're not home. Most common thing to do with this is to take the battery out and keep your phone completely without the battery and back connected. Then, put it in a bowl of rice for 24 hours. If you do that and you continue to have problems, you need to get a new phone. Water damage is the worst thing that can happen to a phone its like the chocolate for dogs- you can't allow it to happen. Try the rice trick, DO NOT blow it with a blowdryer as that can fry the hardware. Hope i've helped you.

It could be either with water damage, and if the phone is still wet inside it will overheat by plugging it in.

Get a bowl of rice, remove the battery and leave the back of the phone open. Put both battery and phone in bowl of rice and leave covered overnight. The rice will soak up any water in the phone or battery.

If this doesn't work the phone has permanent water damage and will need to be replaced.

i have a very similar problem, my phone just shows the LG logo and switches on and off, and the touch pad comes on but that is all. i don't have a warranty any more though..

dont listen to the other guy you would not get three batteries wet unless your dumb... it is probably a cracked circuit board in your phone

There is special battery identifying circuit inside the phone. It seems it needs to repair. Only skilled technician can do the job. Ask fixya for nearby repairman. Is it helping to take decision then don't forget to vote.

have you tried a master reboot? Remove the battery. Hold the power key down for 30 seconds while battery is out of phone. Replace battery, and turn on the phone.
