I can't install YM on a new Windows 8 computer

Try use Yahoo Messenger 9, the latest version. Before download yahoo messenger, make sure firewall allows your connection to download it. It shows that your PC protected from any harmful software because of your firewall. One more thing download your yahoo messenger only for trustful sources websites, it much better. i think you should check your firewall settings. Check also your Windows Firewall. I think there are some problems in your firewall settings. It may be blocked your yahoo messenger from downloading it into your PC. If you use Personal Firewall, make sure it allows your connection to receiving incoming connections and allows you to install yahoo messenger,check it out, may be it blocked your yahoo messenger. hi, it may be due to low bandwidth problems yahoo just gives u a small installation file, and tries to install the rest of the messenger program by downloading them when required, after all the files are downloaded, ur installation is completed. if ur net gets disconnected, or yahoo server lags(very rare case, but happens), then u lose all that u have downloaded..simple way is always try to download from filehippo.com, when it comes to yahoo messenger, as that site provides a full fledged messenger, without the need for downloading before installing..
