If a file has actually been "overwritten" and not just "deleted" then no your photos are toast. Had they been deleted you may of had a chance. However you might want to attempt to use a program such as Tenorshare Data Recovery and try and retrieve deleted pictures. I doubt it will find anything that is actually recoverable but it never hurts to try.
I have tested it when I want to recover deleted pictures from samsung galaxy , it did help!

SOURCE: Recovering deleted photos

Dang, sorry I didn't see this post sooner. It's usually no problem at all to get them back. Please see this post for several free software that you can download. You'll need to use a card reader with these programs though: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

SOURCE: My SD card won't allow me to upload photos on to

This question comes up several times a day here in the camera section at Fixya. But please note, it's very hard to troubleshoot individual software problems online, and it likely is a software issue.

Please don't take the following as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see this article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue.

SOURCE: need to recover deleted photos

Sorry for a late reply. These photos are highly possible to be recovered as long as you take the right steps.

First things first - Stop using the camera memory card immediately! Then connect the device where your lost images located to a PC which has installed a photo recovery tool.
If you are running Windows, try Digital Photo Recovery Software.
For Macintosh users, try Photo Recovery for Mac.

Remember - DO NOT write anything back untill you recover the photos safely. Once the photos are overwritten, it is impossible to recover. Best regards.

SOURCE: accidentally deleted precious photos off memory card

Deleting won't make the pictures on a digital camera erase permanently. Those deleted pictures are still stored on the memory card of your camera, they're just invisible or inaccessible. You can recover them with photo recovery software. But once the deleted pictures were overwritten by new data, they are gone for good.
I used this one named Tenorshare Photo Recovery for Mac and it worked.Anyway, you can download it and scan your memory card for free to preview whether your files can be recovered.By the way,it will show you the file name, type, date and size of your files and thumbnails for your pictures that it found on your card.Give it a shot!

I had success with this
1. Do not save any new file to memory card.
2. Connect the memory card to computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download a photo recovery software, recommended one is asoftech photo recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)

I have had success with this... Download this camera photo recovery program called asoftech photo recovery

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

If needed, you may format (use quick format) the memory card and then use asoftech photo recovery to recover your files.

Recover deleted photos

Since your lost files are photos, I'll recommend you to a the photo recovery software as it's more accurate and fast.

However the first thing you should do is STOP immediately writing anything back to the device in case chances of recovery might be greatly reduced.
