How do I retrieve the password on D-link DI-614+ wireless router?

I have a D-link DI-614+ wireless router which has been on the shelf for about 4 years. I have had to call it back to duty due to some unfortunate incident involving a power supply failure and after a series of other problems, I'm unable to use our Ethernet.connection. So, I need to go wireless temporarily. I assume that the setup is O.K. and I am using the same D-Link DWL-G122 Wireless G USB adapter that was used back in the day. When I try to reach the router via http://192.168.0.1 it asks me 'A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.0.1. The site says: "WebAdmin"'. I would like to know how to retrieve and change, that Username and Password. The DWL-G122 wireless adapter seems to be working because it found it found 8 wireless networks, including ours, All 8 networks were "Secured". Oh! Oh! That password has been long forgotten also. I need to know how to retrieve, as well. Thank you, anyone out there that can help.

SOURCE: No internet connection through router D-Link DI-524

Lost internet connection morning of 1/15/08 through router and directly through laptop 1. But, can get internet connection directly for laptop 2 and laptop 3! Cannot get a valid IP address anymore when laptop 1 is directly connected. Also, I discovered ping works for any lettered website even when the router is not connected to the wall, but correctly times out for a numbered website (eg 216.31.156.10). Completely stumped. Please help!

SOURCE: Internet connection lost when wireless printer added to network

for reseting the password of ur dlink router u have to press the rest button on the dlink router (genrallyit on the bottom or on the back of the router it is like a hole u have to use a pen or pin to reset the router back to its factory default settings after that password of the router will automatically back to admin or password login to ur router change the settings to static ip in the router so that u can provide the static ip of the other router to ur this router (example if primary router HL 2170 ip address is 192.168.1.1 then u will provide this dlink router the ip address as 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.1.1 primary dns 192.168.1.1 now save the settings in the dlink router now the ethernet cable from ur other router will go directly in to the internetor wan port of this router. now connect wirelessly to any router both will work fine without any problem

Password protect wireless access

You'll need to access the administrator web page for your router, and then set a security key (password) for wireless users.

For step-by-step instructions for setting up security on the D-Link DI-614 router, see:

How do I access the router control panel?

The factory default User name is admin and the default Password is blank (empty). It is recommended that you change the admin password for security purposes. Please refer to Tools>Admin to change the admin password.

You need to download the user manual. ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di614+/Manual/DI-614+_manual_06292005.zip

Unable to write network settings to device error code 0x8004d112

1. this error is not recognizable.
But here is the D-link site for updating your firmware for the DI-614
this may resolve your issue.

2. You also may want to check the status of you router by logging into it and checking the "status" page (192.168.0.1)
User : admin
No password unless specified
This will tell you a lot as to what the router is doing and not doing.

Reset dlink 614+ router, forgot password

I don't know for the 614 as there isn't a model like that... Your picture shows a DI-514. Here is the process for that model.

To hard-reset the D-Link Plus DI-514 to Factory Default Settings, please do
the following:
• Leave the device powered on, do not disconnect the power
• Press the reset button and hold (use a paper clip)
• Keep the button pressed about 10 seconds
• Release the button
The DI-514 will then automatically reboot itself.

If you truly have a 614, can you post more about the model number? It's usually written on the bottom of the router.

D-link DI-614 won't reset and the password stays same

Hi,
For problem that you have posted, you can try doing a hard reset on the device by taking a paperclip and perform a hard reset. With unit on, use a paperclip and hold down the reset button on the back of the unit for 10 seconds. Release it and the router will recycle, the lights
will blink, and then stabilize. After the router stabilizes, open your browser and enter
192.168.0.1 into the address window and hit the Enter key. When the
password dialog box appears, enter the username admin and leave the
password blank. Click OK.
Please let us know if that was helpful enough.
Good Luck & Thanks
Shiv.

DI-524 wireless router as wireless switch

You need to disable the DHCP server on your "slave" wireless router ( the di-524 ). In D-link routers this might be called configuring it to be an "Access point".

When this happens, connecting to the second wireless router should cause your computer to obtain an IP address which is in the range of the first router (that is to say, it will use the first router's dhcp server).

You should be able have your laptop connect with an automatic IP address and have it work.
