Childproof Lock I cannot open the washing machine as it displays deactivate the childproof lock. I have no idea how to do this & I cannot find the manual anywhere so I have no instructions as to how this is done.

According to the online manual for a different model Siemens dryer:

"Press and hold the "Ready in" time button and the drying time button at the same time for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate the childproof lock."

Child-proof lock
? You can protect the appliance from being tampered by activating the child-proof lock.
? When activated, no change can be made to the programme running.
To activate the child-proof lock:
1 Press the 1st and 2nd additional function buttons for 3 seconds.
2 The "C ON" (child lock is activated) symbol appears on the screen.
Note: the child lock symbol will also be displayed whenever any button is pressed while the
machine is child-locked.
3 The child-proof lock lamp on the programme follow-up indicator will light up when the childproof lock is activated.
To deactivate the child-proof lock:
1 Press the 1st and 2nd additional function buttons for 3 seconds.
2 The "C OFF" (child-proof lock is deactivated) symbol appears on the screen.
3 The child-proof lock lamp on the programme follow-up indicator will go off when the child-proof
lock is deactivated.

Machine does not switch on or the programme does not start. Machine is not activated when set.

* It might have not been plugged in.

* The loading door may be ajar.

* Programme might have not been set or the «Start/Pause/Cancel» button might have not been pressed.

* «Childproof lock» might have been activated.

* The condenser cover on the models with a condenser might not be closed securely.

* Make sure that the machine is plugged in.

* Make sure that the loading door is properly closed.

* Make sure that the programme has been set and it is not in "Pause" mode.

* Deactivate the childproof lock.

* Make sure that the condenser cover and the red lock is closed securely.

A Call an authorised service agent if the problem persists.

this symbol means that the lock is on for the controls. this is a feature so that nobody can use it (childproof) If your machine comes with that feature. if not then it indicates your door is locked

Here are a couple of possible reasons it stopped and solutions from the manual.

Adding/removing laundry in standby mode

If you want to add or remove laundry into/from your machine after the drying programme has
started, put the machine into Pause mode by pressing the START/PAUSE/CANCEL button. The
drying process will stop. Open the door at Pause position and close it again after adding or
removing laundry. Press START/PAUSE/CANCEL button to start the programme.

Any laundry added after the drying process was started may cause the already dried clothes in
the machine to intermingle with wet clothes and the result will be wet laundry after the drying
process is over.
It is not recommended to add laundry after the programme is started as it will increase the
programme time and energy consumption.

Childproof lock

There is a childproof lock to prevent any programme interruption due to the pressing of keys
while the programme is on. The loading door and all keys except the ON/OFF key on the panel are
deactivated when the childproof lock is active.
In order to activate the childproof lock, press on the StARt/PAUSe/CANCel and BUzzeR CANCel
buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

To start a new programme after the programme is over or to interrupt the
programme, the childproof lock should be deactivated.
To deactivate the childproof lock, press the same buttons for 3 seconds.

Two beeps will sound when the childproof lock is activated. A single beep
will sound when the lock is deactivated.

I was able to view the manual by a Google search and the third item on the Google search list was the manual, but it would only come up by selecting "quick view", otherwise it would crash the Acrobat reader plugin.

Bosch Logixx 8 error code nr0 means - The childproof lock has been activated.

Just deactivate the childproof lock.

Cause The childproof lock has been activated.
Resolution Deactivate the childproof lock. Directions can be found in your instruction manual.
The manual for your washer can be fount at at the following website. You will need the E-Nr number in order to get the correct manual. You can find the E-Nr Number on the rating plate of your home appliance.

Set it to the last programme you had it on then press and hold the timer button for about 5 seconds.

This is the childproof lock symbol and prevents you from changing a program once it has been selected The symbol flashes if the program is changed during a wash cycle. If the machine is switched off mid cycle with the lock on then it will continue the program as so as the machine is switched back on. To activate the lock press the START button and hold for 4 seconds and the key is displayed. To deactivate the lock press the START button and hold for 4 seconds until the key symbol disappears.
