Go to the control panel / sound and check if the sound is set to mute ? if it is then untick the box and increase the volume. If you are playing songs from cd make sure its a working one. if the cd is fine and the sound is full you are not able to hear the sound then you will need to install the drivers for the card. use the drivers cd which came with the machine. After installing the drivers you should be able to hear songs if you still have issues then possibly somethings wrong with the soundcard / speakers.
your sound card driver is need to re-install or uninstall the old driver then make a new install the sound card driver or try to re-install and update the laptop drivers...thanks...
1. download and extract the zip file 2. install high def hotfix from 03 MSHDQFE folder 3. run setup from 04 sound, it will say that audio not found 4. open device manager , there you will find audio device on high def bus, right click on it and choose update driver, then choose install from list 5. choose dont search i will provide the driver for install, then choose i have disk
6. browse c:swsetupsp35270 , which was created in step 3, it will give a wrning , choose continue anyway, it will be installed
First you just play the songs in VLC player. If sounds comes then ok,otherwise cheack below that i have written......
I think either the (XP)sound drivers doesn't match or the problem in your sound device. So it's better to go to the nearest service station and cheak your laptop. If it is OK then, search for proper sound drivers from them or in google.
i'm having the same problem i even got the restore disks from hp (presario v2000) xp sp 2 anyhow it keeps not finding the sound card i have been searching all over and even took the laptop apart to see if i could find the chipset name on the board. not having any luck with this.
