SOURCE: Water keeps going and going and going!

the water is draining back to the ocean. The drain hose was not emptied properly from its last use. Put the machine in spin cycle (about 5 minutes) only to spin out the water from the outer tub completely and retry washer. If still problem, then visual check drain hose that it still has a "rising" section higher in altitude than the water level of inner tub (when working properly) before it makes a U-turn downward to send back to the ocean. You can also test the drain hose by putting machine in fill mode and crimping off the hose (fold hose over) to simulate a good drain hose. At this test, you should not "feel" water running through the hose if successfully crimped.

From the closed position lift the lid of the washer about 2'' and listen for a distinct click. Then set lid back down and should hear another click just before it closes. The wire form hinge on left side of lid actuates the lid switch. Is it broken? Let me know.

Washer stops during rinse cycle and beeps at me

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Lid Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer stops mid cycle the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.
Water Inlet Valve If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.

Main Control Board If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.

Timer If the washer stops mid cycle the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer.

Filled with water and stopped

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The scenario you describe is usually associated with a faulty or broke lid switch...but I don't know if you checked that yet or if you know how.

The lid switch failure is definitely a common top load washer problem. Here`s how you can repair it pretty easily...

( this is based on the most common Whirlpool, Estate, Kitchen-Aid, Roper, Kenmore, Inglis top-load washer, not necessarily applicable to ALL...but with a model number I could say if it cover's yours)

Here`s a helpful link for changing it out,

When it gets to Spin cycle, stops and does not pump out water

This switch is a safety switch and needs to be working properly.

The condition that you describe sounds like the switch is not indicating the lid is closed...so no spin.

Also, check that both hot and cold fill hoses are on, <<Be sure.
