My machine won't sew a zig zag when set on the zig zag setting. It will sew straight then thrown in a random zig zag here or there. And now it won't pick up the bobbin thread while sewing.....I re-threaded both threads, checked tensions, and checked for lint...any other suggestions?
I think whey a repair shop changed the bobbin assembly from the orginal one to a bobbins assembly made in Japan, I am going to have to put the old type back on if I have one or orger one from my friend Guy,

SOURCE: Shirring fabric?
When putting your shirring elastic on the bobbin, don't thread the elastic through the bobbin holder, adjust the stitch length longer, and loosen the tension, other wise if you want to put it through the bobbin holder you have to loosen the tension screw on the bobbin holder, and then you have to adjust it back for ordinary sewing,
