Not sure if you got my last comment - I pulled the switch, but couldn't cross wires. If I unscrew the bulb, other electrical works fine/no buzz. Freezer works fine regardless of bulb in fridge. When you open the fridge with the bulb screwed in, it buzzes and the light flickers dimly, other electrical of fridge goes out (filter and cool setting numbers).

Make sure that the white goes to the neutral, black to the live and the red to the load (light bulb). Make sure that the bulb is not hitting the socket before making electrical contact. Many bulbs these days get too fat too fast to screw down far enough. Cross the red and white to verify that it turns on. Make sure that the cadmium cell is not facing a light source preventing it from turning on at night etc. If so cover half of it with black electrical tape or create a sheet metal shield of some sort. Make sure there is not another timer or switch indoors that is now in the off position etc.
Fridge light bulbs unscrew just like the ones in the back of your stove. Depending on make and model you may have to remove some light covers to access the bulb to unscrew it. Can you locate the model of the fridge and post it here so I can help you better with a percise answer?
Make sure you unplug fridge from wall power socket, remove bulb cover if one is fitted.Carefully twist or gently try to unscrew bulb. If successful take bulb to electrical parts shop and buy a new one.You may of course use your Fridge until you buy a new lamp,Refitting is simply the reverse of removing bulb.Good Luck!

Unplug the frig to remove power. Unscrew the bulb. Check the nub on the bottom of the bulb to make sure it is not flattened. Use needle nose pliers to grab the center tab of the bulb socket and pull outward slightly so bulb will make better connection. Could be a faulty switch or bad connection in the wiring.
A fridge light bulb is usually a 40 watt appliance bulb with a screw base. It is heavy duty to last in the temperature. If it is not easily accesible to unscrew and replace, there may be plastic cover to unsnap.
