I upgraded the tomtom via tomtom home and it will not start

Same problem here. We used a Mac instead of Windows, if that matters??? Have you tried calling Tomtom support? We can't get through and are VERY frustrated! In the last three days, we've called about 10 times and have been on hold forever... like up to an hour! They also have not responded to emails we've sent!
Any help from others out there on this would be appreciated.

Had the same problem with Tom Tom One XL. Had to get a patch from Tom Tom to get it to work on my mac

When you're at your home address, set it as your Home or Favourite and try it that way. If not upgrade your firmware here

I have TomTom Home running on my Mac desktop and PC laptop. Can you tell me what computer you're using? If the computer operating system is older than 10 years, then I don't think any software would run on your computer unless the software was 10 years old. There's been alot of upgrades to hardware and software....

I would recommend you only do a map upgrade if you definatly need to as looking at other posts on this forum lots of people have problems after trying to update maps.
Updating maps is NOT FREE , you have to pay for updates and after downloading updates you need to reactivate the map with your product code . Only do an update after backing up your existing maps other sie you might have trouble reverting back if the download goes wrong.

Ok, here we go:
1: Do a completly backup via win explorer or similar.
Copy entire content of unit to a folder on your computer.
Remember to set win explorer to show system/hidden files.
2: Make an account here for free:
http://www.tomtom.com/myTomTom/myProfile/index.php
3: Download and install TomTom Home:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=3&Language=4
4: Connect unit to PC, TT Home starts up. If TT Home doesn't start, start it up manually.
5: When unit tells you to, tap Connect to computer
6: Log on with info from account creation, step 2.
7: Push Update my device from within TT Home.
8: DO NOT disconnect the unit while updating.

When updating is finished, disconnect unit.
The unit will then reboot, and you are done...

Tips:
You can get one free map update if a new map is avaible within 30 days from when you first started to use the unit. This is done through TT Home...

You may have not written the entire program to the SD card. If you saved the program prior to the upgrade, start tomtom home program and reinstall the program. then upgrade again. The tomtom home program is not as user friendly as you would hope. Also turn the unit off, take out the card and then reinsert and turn the unit on again.
