Im looking to get the most out of my subs. i have a 1000 watt sony amp that is not 2 ohm stable but im going to buy a new one because that amp is burnt up. are two 4 ohm sony xplod, wired in parrallel creating them to be 2 ohm subs a peice, stable to the point where they will not blow up? and does this do anything to the rms watts ?

Check the Polarity on the subs, you might have to invert one. Best way i know of to test is get a BASS CD -=download a bass test cd...legally of course=- and check for a test that will just flutter the speakers in and out and see if they both go in and out in the same way, if one is in and the other is out that could be your problem

No it will sound good if you can put an amplifier with 500 watts rms it will sound better
SOURCE: i have 2 sony xplod 4ohm subs rated 350w rms and
the premier amp is better since it has a better rms rating (360w total or 160w each sub) than the eclipse (280w if you bridge all 4 channels which isn't possible but 140w for each speaker bridging 2 channels per speaker). Neither are going to push your subs but if you get another amp wiring kit and use one amp per sub they will sound a lot better and you could just hook both power wire and ground wires from the bridged channels to the power and ground terminals for the sub. That would be my suggestion since the subs are rated at 350w and each amp is 280w and 320w which will push but not blow the subs.
