Follow the directions for setting the calendar. Once you have entered the correct M/DY, the day of the week will display correctly.
Alandroberts, Thanks for the solution to my problem. I had not contemplated that the correct date setting would automatically set the day of the week. How simple-- It would have been nice if the directions indicated this. I originally thought I had the correct date set but it must have gotten changed when I started playing with the buttons to change the 24/12 hr clock format.

I fixed my problem with help from someone at an email address that I found on the back of my clock. They directed me to a free website that gave me detailed directions for setting my clock. Thanks, but no thanks, for offering the "un-free" advice.
