Leapster 2 broken screen

We just bought a leapster 2 for my daughter, unfortunately she dropped it breaking the screen. It turns on fine but the pen will not work at all with the screen. Is there anyway I could get a replacement screen and instructions on how to install it. I asked www.leapfrog.com but they are no help what so ever. Hate to think that I've flushed seventy dollars down the drain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the screen actually broke or just not responding. If it's the latter, try recalibrating, there's a step by step here:

Actually, both of these solutions are the same solution.

My daughter has a Leapster 2 that is only about 2 months old and the touch screen does not work

Answer
I had the same problem and here is the answer I found at leapfrog.com which fixed my daughter’s disney princess leapster 2’s problem. Good luck!
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit

My Leapster 2 comes on, shows the name on screen & ask to touch my name w/ the pen; however when I touch the name, nothing happens. It keeps asking to touch a name or "guest".

Leapster 2 will shut off right after the "important" screen

Just called Leap Frog and apparently this is a common problem (defective screen). As long as it was purchased within a year they will replace it for free. They ask you when and where you bought it. (You have to pay to send the broken one back it was like $5). Hope this helps.

Leapster with broken pen

My daughter did the same thing to the tip of her Leapster 2 stylus. I called Leap Frog at 1-800-701-5327 and was able to order a replacement stylus directly from them on credit card for $5.00 shipped.

I also took her old stylus and sanded the broken tip down with 100 grit and then 220 grit sandpaper to get rid of the sharp, cracked point and it works just fine. I figure I'll keep the sanded one as a spare in case she does something silly with it again.

Leapster screen not working

Apparantly, the Leapster screen issue is a common problem. While this suggestion is not ethical and since my game was near perfect condition, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a new one of the same color and then returned the broken one.
