Your brake pads, shoes are worn down metal to metal. Get them replaced. Usually, a squealer is installed on the brake pad and it will hit the metal first and let you know with a loud squealing sound, then comes the actual metal to metal, then comes the damage. So, Get it done asap, and avoid turning the rotors or drums. Hope this helps.
