This TV has crapped out several times and the part I need is obsolete. While it kills me to do so, it's time to write it off and cut my losses. Can I part it out? Sell it as-is? Or just chop it up? Thoughts?
LIKELY it is fixable, most landfills will not take this as it contains Glycol which is a toxic material---If in a large city in the USA for example there are people who will come pick it up for free and send to a recycle center.
Also in USA list it for free on Craigslist or in Canada for example kajiji.

SOURCE: On my WS-55511 TV, after a power interruption,
Good Day,
LED does not stop blinking after plug in. Check for 12 volts at connect or PF pin 10 and 28 volts at connector PF pin 11, (on the board on the right hand side, but on the left side of board towards the back of TV). If the supplies are correct suspect a problem in the DM Assembly (part # 955C230002). Part is not available for replacement.
Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad or not, replace them all with part # 181P734030 (680 UFD, 16V, 105C).
The DM (Digital Module) Assembly is located on the extreme left of the chassis from the back. It is standing in a vertical position. Remove cover and you see the Cap’s in one corner of the inside PCB.
Good Luck, Big IRISH.
SOURCE: The power went out yesterday.
Thats a very common problem caused by weak capacitors on the DM board. When power is lost the caps discharge and when the power is restored they cannot recharge so the timer led will blink non stop. You can get the DM repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com it contains the upgraded capacitors and the CD with repair instructions.
