if you don't have the accessory that looks like a short piece of rubber hose used to remove and reinstall the bulb, take the machine to an authorized Viking repair dealer and ask them to install a new bulb.
The best way is to take it to an authorized repairman. You can try getting it very warm, like putting it in the warmest sunlit room in the house, or in the back seat of the car in sunlight. If it works better when it gets warm, the reverse mechanism will need to be cleaned. Then you can take it to an authorized repairmain.
