Need to configure new linksys range plus wireless G router. can't access the gui interface via classic http://192.168.1.1 ip in browser.

There are ways to configure router:
1. Is by using Installer using a CD came with it or
2. Access routers Graphical User Interface (GUI) through Internet browser. Just type in on the address bar the IP address of your router. For dlink it has a default IP of 192.168.1.0.

Note:
Before accessing router configuration make sure that the yellow cord (ethernet cable) is connected directly from the router to your computer.

Try resetting the Linksys.
To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

For that open internet explorer then go to tools->internet option then advanced tab reset all settings to defaults then restart it then check.
Follow below to configure router.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Not unless you have setup a logon security for your router's configuration. After logging into the router's configuration, go to SECURITY tab, if your wireless connection does ask for a username and password for you to connect then you need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) what type of security is compatible with your service will it be WEP,WEP Shared, WPA2 etc...

Now, if you select WEP the password is plainly a 10-digit code, if it's other than WEP then the wireless password has to be a 16-digit Alpha-Numeric code...

the reason is the password on the GUi and in your computer is not match. You need to access the GUI by opening a browser then type the ip address of your router. You need to contact your ISP to assist you in configuring your wireless account.

if ur using IOS autonomous AP, then u'll need to configure the bvi interface to get an ip address and then enable the interface. once it has an ip, u'll need to configure the ssid, vlan, etc - choices include doing so with the CLI or web page GUI. U'll need to enable the built-in web server then u can access it via the web interface to setup the ssid, any vlans, radius, etc. good luck.
